Exceptional Number of Israeli Films at TIFF'15

    We are thrilled to announce the 11 Israeli films that will be debuting at TIFF2015!!
    Baba Joon directed by Yuval Delshad chronicles an Iranian-Israeli father-son relationship, providing a glimpse into a distinctive immigrant experience and the story of intergenerational tension.  Demon directed by Marcin Wrona tells the story of a groom who becomes possessed by a dybbuk during his wedding. The Kind Words, directed by Shemi Zarhin tells the story of three Jewish Israeli siblings who set out to find their biological father following the death of their mother and the discovery that he is a Muslim. Latchkey Kids, directed by Elad Goldman,  narrates the close relationship between a brother and sister who have lived on their own in an empty house and cared for each other. Mountain, directed by Yaelle Kayam tells the story of an Orthodox woman who becomes ensconsed in a community of prostitutes and dealers who meet at the Mount of Olives.  One Last Night directed by Kerem Blumberg, is a short film about Noa and Orr, a couple who have only one night to spend together in Tel Aviv before Orr leaves for Berlin. P.S., Jerusalem directed by Danae Elon, is a documentary recounting  Elon’s return to her hometown of Jerusalem with her family after several years abroad. In Rabin, the Last Day, Director Amos Gitai takes viewers through the day that Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated. Thru You Princess is a documentary by Ido Haar who archives the relationship between cross-continental musical collaborators, one based in the American South and Kutiman, in Israel. Wedding Doll, directed by Nitzan Gilady is about a young woman with a mild mental disability and her journey into and through her first relationship.  We are very excited to welcome Academy Award and Golden Globe winner Natalie Portman to Toronto for her debut of A Tale of Love and Darkness which she directed and stars in!  The film is based on celebrated Israeli author Amos Oz’s best-selling memoir.
