Changes in Marital Status

  •

The Consulate will not be able to authenticate Public Canadian official documents, including Marriage certificates, Marriage License, Divorce certificates, Death Certificates and Court orders, and those must be stamped by Apostille prior to its submission to the Consulate.

Every Israeli citizen must notify the Israeli authorities of any change in their marital status, such as marriage, divorce or widowhood.

This service is provided by appointment only.

This service allows for the update of marital status (married, divorced, widowed), name change or name choice and change of address for the purpose of postal services.

In order to update your marital status a certificate indicating your new status must be provided. The certificate must be authenticated with an apostille. Information on apostille authentication can be found here.

An application will be submitted to the Consulate. The change applied for will be made by the Ministry of Interior in Israel, about two (2) months after the application is received by the Consulate.
