An Israeli
citizen wishing to renounce their Israeli citizenship must voluntarily declare
at the Consulate that they wish to do so. Their application is submitted to the
Ministry of Interior and will be subject to the consent of the Minister of
Interior. Until the Minister of Interior gives the approval, the Israeli
citizen is still considered Israeli and must enter and exit Israel with a valid
Israeli passport.
1. When
applying to renounce one’s Israeli citizenship, the applicant must appear at
the Consulate in person.
2. The
applicant must bring an Israeli passport for the purpose of identification.
3. The
applicant must prepare a photocopy of their entire Israeli passport, including blank
pages.
4. The
applicant must make sure that they have fulfilled all their duties with the
Ministry of Interior reported all
changes in marital status, arranged their military status with the Israel
Defense Forces, have registered all the births abroad, etc.
5. The
applicant must pay a fee.
