In honor of Ramadan, the President of the State of Israel, Shimon Peres, delivered a special message of friendship, peace and coexistence to the Muslim world through social media channels.

    Dear friends,

Ramadan Karim is not only a holiday for you, but a celebration to all of us. After all, we are coming from the same family - the family of Abraham, and after all, you, us, the Christians, all of us, we pray to the Lord to stop the bloodshed, to let the children be safe at home, to make it unnecessary for the mothers to cry, to suffer. And we can do it, it depends upon us.

We have to come together and bring peace, all of us. We have to do whatever we can as human beings, as believers, to do it immediately, in the earliest date.

The Ramadan is an occasion to fast, to think, to wish, to hope, and all of us should use those days really to pray to the Lord and to call upon ourselves to bring peace for all. People may be, and should be even, different -
but not when it comes to life, not when it comes to peace, not when it comes to happiness, not when it comes to food.

Let's do it. It is a call from heaven. It is a necessity for all of us on earth.

I wish you a happy Ramadan.
Kull am wa antum bi khair.
