Israeli Minister of Economy and Industry, Eli Cohen arrived in Canada May 28 to sign an updated version of the Canada-Israel Free Trade Agreement (CIFTA). While in the country, Minister Cohen also attended meetings in Toronto and Montreal.
Consul General Galit Baram, joined Israeli Ambassador to Canada, Nimrod Barkan, the UJA Federation of Greater Toronto and Minister Cohen for a gathering of thirty young members of the local business community. They discussed innovation, entrepreneurship and ways to expand Canada-Israel relations.
The following day (May 29), CG Baram accompanied Minister Cohen to the Canadian Club of Toronto. There, the Minister joined his Canadian counterpart and host, Francois-Philippe Champagne, Minister of International Trade. The two celebrated the updated trade deal while discussing cooperation.
