In honour of Israel's 71st anniversary of Independence, the Consulate General celebrated by organizing four very special flag raising ceremonies.
The first two ceremonies were held on May 7th in association with the City of Vaughan as well as the Ontario Provincial Legislature (Queen's Park). Consul General Gali Baram was downtown at Queen's Park with members of the Jewish community as well as parliamentarians of all stripes. Deputy Consul General, Nissan Amdur brought greetings in Vaughan.
On May 9, the Consulate held an additional two ceremonies in Richmond Hill and at Toronto City Hall. Toronto has always been a great supporter pf the State of Israel and every year we are honoured that City Council helps us recognize this special relationship. Consul General Galit Baram brought greetings to members of the Israeli, Jewish and Canadian communities. Out in Richmond Hill, Deputy Consul General Nissan Amdur addressed a group of attendees in the City Council chambers before helping lift the flag to the sky.
