    ​In 2011, COGAT worked together with the Palestinian Authority and the international community to strengthen Palestinian economic development and improve quality of life.

    The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) is responsible for the implementation of civil policy and the coordination of civil activities in the West Bank and towards the Gaza Strip, and oversees the Civil Administration of Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) and the District Coordination Office for Gaza.
     
    COGAT leads the coordination on civilian issues with the Palestinian Authority, the international community and other relevant figures in the West Bank and towards the Gaza Strip.
    In 2011, COGAT worked together with the Palestinian Authority and the international community to strengthen Palestinian economic development and improve quality of life. Figures demonstrate growth of Palestinian employment in Israel, growth in Palestinian GDP, expansion of internationally funded projects in Area C and the continued development of infrastructure, especially in the fields of transportation and environment.

    In 2011 we continued implementing the expanded civil policy towards the Gaza Strip, distinguishing between the terror entity in control and the civilian population in spite of continued terrorist attacks against Israel.
     
    This report presents data collated from 2011 in fields such as agriculture, trade, international projects and healthcare, providing perspective into yearly fluctuation and resulting economic indicators. We hope for this upward trend to continue in 2012, in conjunction with a stable security situation.
