    Visiting Israeli soprano Sivan Rotem gives a recital of operatic arias, songs by Shostakovich and Hebrew traditional songs. She will be accompanied by pianist Bruce Greenfield and, in the Shostakovich songs, by the Te Kōkī Trio: Martin Riseley, violin; Inbal Megiddo, cello and Jian Liu, piano. 
    Note that the venue for this concert is in the Massey University Theatrette, in the Old Museum Building (Block 10) off Buckle Street. Vehicles should come via Rugby and Tasman Streets to Entrance D. 
     
     
    NZSM hosts this concert in collaboration with the Embassy of Israel in New Zealand and with the support of the Adam Foundation and the Prime Property Group.
    Sivan Rotem is considered one of the most outstanding singers of Israel. She has the distinction of working across five continents. Born in Buenos Aires, Sivan started her musical training as a violinist. She graduated from the Tel Aviv Rubin Academy of Music at Tel Aviv University in singing and continued her vocal studies with Ellen Faull in the USA. Sivan Rotem has won prizes in many distinguished international vocal competitions such as the "Francisco Vin᷈as International Voice Competition" in Barcelona and the "Young Artists Competition" of The Israeli Broadcasting Authorities in Jerusalem.
     
     
    Sivan made her debut with Zubin Mehta and The Israel Philharmonic in The Magic Flute and appears regularly with all the leading orchestras of Israel, including The Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, the Haifa Symphony, the Israel Chamber Orchestra, the Israel Camerata, The Israel Netanya- Kibbutz Orchestra and the Israel Sinfonietta.  She has sung with The New Israeli Opera, in many operas such as Don Pasquale, La Boheme, Werther, Orfeo ed Euridice, Electra and Cosi Fan Tutte
