Police
Certificates are for those who have resided in Israel for a period of over
three months and are required by their government or a foreign institution to
provide a certification of a lack of criminal record or involvement in criminal
proceedings.
Under the law, the certificate can not be given to the applicant but rather is transferred directly to the official entity that requested it.
You may submit an application to the Israel Police through the Israeli Embassy Consular Section by
email/by registered post or in person with a pre-made appointment and your
valid ID.
After
submission of the application, certificates will be processed and sent
from Israel (this usually takes between 6 and 8 weeks). The
police clearance certificate is printed in English and Hebrew and is valid for one year from the issue date.
* If
the police clearance is part of a New Zealand visa application – please write
the full address of the New Zealand immigration department that is handling
your request
* If the police
clearance is part of a job application – please send a request letter from your
employer with their postal address by email or post.
* The process of
applying for and receiving an Israeli Police Clearance can take up to 8 weeks
from the date your application is submitted. Please ensure you allow sufficient
time for processing as we are unable to escalate special requests.
* Please send us an email (consular@wellington.mfa.gov.il) and
include your phone number so we can contact you when the certificate arrives. Do
that even if you submit your application directly to the Israel Police and
not through the Embassy Consular Section.
If you do not receive any
confirmation email after 5 days from submitting the request - please contact
the consular department.
