th
International Agricultural Technology Exhibition took place this month at the
Israel Trade Fairs and Convention Center in Tel Aviv. The event featured
speakers, delegates, policy makers, professionals and exhibitors from around
the globe, leaders in agritech industries and representatives from countries
thirsting for solutions to their agricultural issues.
New Zealand
and Australia sent 28 delegates to participate in the 2018 conference. Several
major companies were represented in the Southwestern Pacific delegation,
including participants from Fonterra, Westpac Bank, LIC, Ravensdown, Farm IQ
and the Ridley Corporation.
Led by the
Israel Embassy in New Zealand’s Economic & Trade Affairs Officer Amos
Palfreyman, the attendees visited the Volcani Agricultural Research
Organization, the Centre for Sustainable Agriculture at the Arava Institute
and several more in addition to the main conference.
“It was fantastic to accompany such a high-level delegation
and to see the many opportunities in Agritech collaboration between Israel and
New Zealand,” commented Palfreyman on the highly successful trip.
In only 70 years, Israel has become one of the world leaders
in agriculture technology. Israel boasts the world’s highest reused wastewater
rate, the most developed irrigation methods and some of the most advanced
agritech on the international market for water heating and electricity
generation. Based on its accumulated experience, Israel is poised to play a
major role in supplying the world with cutting-edge agriculture solutions.
