The Ministry of Tourism will host 64
leading fashion and lifestyle journalists from elite magazines worldwide as part
of the three-day Tel Aviv Fashion Week, which opens on Monday (November 21),
attracting leading designers, journalists and fashion experts. Fashion magazines
and newspapers expressed great interest in coming to Israel.
"Vogue," considered
the world’s leading and most famous fashion magazine, will be sending
representatives from Italy, Germany and Russia; the international magazine
"Elle" will be sending over writers from France, Italy, Japan, Canada and
Finland while journalists from Norway and China are expected to arrive from
Cosmopolitan Magazine. They will be joined by other journalists from CNN, the
British Sun, and fashion writers from France, Germany, Italy, the United States,
Great Britain, Japan, Russia, China, Canada, Poland, Finland, Mexico, Norway and
Slovakia.
The many journalists, guests of the Ministry of Tourism, will
participate in Fashion Week events as well as tours of the various tourism sites
in Israel.
The hosting of the various journalists by the Ministry of
Tourism is part of the ministry's marketing activities designed to expose
decision makers worldwide to the various tourism, culture, leisure and
entertainment opportunities available in Israel. Hosting allows for an
unprecedented international exposure that speaks to a general audience looking
for various vacation, leisure and entertainment opportunities alongside history,
religion and culture. Within this framework, the Ministry of Tourism has hosted
over the last year lifestyle guru Martha Stewart, Israeli born American singer
Gene Simmons, the miners from Chile, American actress Claire Danes, actors from
the television series "House," as well as leading bloggers from China and
various other journalists.
Minister of Tourism, Stas Misezhnikov:
"The Ministry of Tourism invests significant resources and uses various means to
reach out to new markets and advertise the attractive tourism product Israel has
to offer. Fashion aficionados tend to follow new and leading trends, and are
attracted to cultural, historical and entertainment options which are all part
of Israel's unique tourism product."
