Basic
requirements and conditions:
1. At least one parent must be an Israeli
citizen.
2. Parents' status must be updated (Marriage).
3. The Israeli parent must be present at
the consulate in order to register his son/daughter.
4. The presence of the registrant is
required for issuing a passport (after registration).
This service is in person ONLY!
The process of registering Israeli
citizenship is similar to newborns and adult registrants!
The passport or ID
card of the parent filling in the application
The passport or
ID card of the applicant’s spouse.
Birth certificate - The child’s original, authenticated birth certificate with Apostille stamp
A notarized translation is
required for birth certificates that are not in Hebrew, English, or Arabic (the
translation must include the translator’s declaration before a notary).
Birth records
from the hospital where the mother gave birth.
Confirmation of
birth from the obstetrics department of the hospital where the child was born.
Birth
records (at least two):
A letter indicating the birth.
Documents of hospitalization or discharge from the hospital.
Pregnancy tracking starting from the third month.
Any other reliable document indicating the birth.
1.In the case of an Israeli parent who was born abroad- Citizenship type of the parent must be checked before applying citizenship for the child.
2. In the case of an Israeli father and a non Israeli mother who are not married - The application can only be examined by the Israeli Population and Immigration Authority.
3. In the case of an Israeli father and a non Israeli mother who are married but not registered as married in The Israeli Population Registry - The Israeli father must present proofs of a marital relationship at least 300 days before the child's birth, or, If the mother is Jewish, eligibility for Aliyah for the mother can be presented. To get this, contact the Jewish Agency.

father is not married to the mother of the child, or they are married but not registered
as married in the Israeli population):
"Strong" prooofs
Apartment rent agreement
Utility bills that includes both names.
Joint bank account
Tax reports
Insurance policies
"Weak" proofs:
Photos with dates
Recommendation
letters from relatives and friends about the relationship
Money
transfers
Flight reservations
with the names
Club
memberships
Alternatively, if the
mother is Jewish entitled to the Law of Return and has a letter from
the Jewish Agency, there will be no need to prove cohabitation.
In cases where the
parents have not registered the child within 30 days of birth, an Israeli child
born abroad may be registered subjected to the restrictions of the
Civil Registry procedure.
