    Terrorist attacks – 13 Sept 2015 up to today
     
    Below is a review of major terror attacks against Israeli civilians that have occurred since 13 September 2015. This is a partial list that does not include riots or many of the attacks that occur almost daily: rock throwing (5809), roadside/pipe bombs (177) and Molotov cocktails/grenades (1194) that have occurred since October 2015.
     
    Terror by numbers
    ·         Since 13 September 2015, 60 innocent people have been killed in terrorist attacks (including a Palestinian, two Americans, an Eritrean, and a British student), and 859 wounded (including uninvolved Palestinians).
    ·         There have been: 188 stabbing attacks and 136 attempted stabbings; 169 shooting attacks; and 60 vehicular (ramming) attacks.
     
    Details of selected events:
     
    10 December: Jerusalem: A security guard (46) at the Jerusalem Central Bus Station was stabbed in the heart and seriously wounded by a terrorist during a security check at the entrance to the station. The attacker (24, from Nablus) was apprehended.
     
    30 November: Arad: A 19-year-old soldier, Ron Yitzhak Kokia, was stabbed to death at a bus station in the southern city of Arad, and his gun stolen. Two Palestinian suspects were arrested; one led investigators to the soldier's gun.
     
    17 November: Gush Etzion: A terrorist ran over a civilian (70) near the town of Efrat, then continued to the Gush Etzion junction and ran over another civilian (35), seriously injuring him. Then, he exited the car and tried to stab soldiers from an IDF unit. The forces shot and wounded the terrorist (17, from Halhoul in the West Bank).
     
    21 October: Hebron: At Abraham's Spring, a 12-year-old boy was struck in the head by a large stone thrown by Palestinians, causing him to fall into the spring. He was taken to Hadassah Hospital and treated and is in good condition.
     
    18 October: Gush Etzion junction: A terrorist attempted to stab IDF forces. During the attempt to stop and arrest him, the terrorist (20) was shot; he was taken to Hadassah Hospital in serious condition.
    4 October: Kfar Kassem: On the eve of the Succot holiday (Festival of Booths), Reuven Schmerling (70), from Elkana in Samaria, was murdered. Two Palestinians (in their 20's, from Qabatiya in Samaria) who had entered Israel illegally with the intention of murdering Jews, were arrested.
     
    26 September: Har Adar: Youssef Ottman (25), Or Arish (25) and St. Sgt. Solomon Gavriya (20), were murdered in a shooting attack. The three, two civilian security guards and one border police officer, were on duty when the terrorist, who held a work permit, aroused their suspicions. The terrorist, who had intended to carry out an attack on the civilians in the community, opened fire, killing the three and injuring one other person. The terrorist was killed by security forces.
     
    2 August: Yavne: (Preliminary report) A terrorist (19) from the West Bank village of Yatta, stabbed and critically wounded the (Jewish) assistant manager of a supermarket in which the attack took place. The attacker, who entered Israel illegally, was apprehended and held by bystanders until the police arrived.
     
    24 July: Petah Tikva: Stabbing attack in a shwarma stand in the center of town left one man moderately wounded. The wounded man (32), an Israeli Arab, is an Egged bus driver. The attacker (21), who entered Israel illegally from Qalqilya in the West Bank, was apprehended by civilians at the scene and turned over to security forces when they arrived.
     
    21 July: Neve Tzuf-Halamish, western Binyamin region: On Friday night, three Israelis were murdered as they celebrated the Sabbath, and the birth of a new grandson, in their home. Yosef Zvi Salomon (70), his oldest daughter Chaya Esther Salomon (46) and his son Elad Menahem Salomon (36) were stabbed to death; Yossi's wife, Tova, was stabbed in the back and, after undergoing surgery, is recovering. Elad's baby twins were asleep in an upstairs bedroom. While Elad struggled with the terrorist (eventually succumbing), his wife managed to get their 3 older children to safety upstairs. The terrorist (19, from the nearby village Kaubar) was shot and wounded by a neighbor, an off-duty IDF soldier who rushed over when he heard Chaya's screams.
     
    14 July: Temple Mount, Jerusalem: Two Israeli Border Police officers on duty on the Temple Mount were shot and killed by terrorists: Three armed terrorists entered the compound early Friday morning. After being discovered by police officers, they tried to escape into a mosque. In the exchange of fire between the terrorists and police officers, Haiel Stawi (30) and Kamil Shnaan (22) were fatally wounded; a medic was lightly wounded; and the terrorists (all from Umm el-Fahm) were shot and killed. The Temple Mount was closed by police. The unusually severe response was due to the unusually severe nature of the attack – staging an armed attack on the grounds of a site holy to both Jews and Muslims.
     
    20 June: near Adam, north of Jerusalem: Attempted stabbing attack. Soldiers shot and killed the assailant.
     
    17 June: Old City, Jerusalem: A young woman (23), Hadas Malka was stabbed to death by a Palestinian terrorist. Malcah was serving as an officer in the Border Police that maintained security at the Damascus Gate. The attacker was shot to death by Border Police at the site. This attack was apparently coordinated with the attack at:

    Zedekiah's Cave near Damascus Gate, Jerusalem: Two Palestinians shot at passersby. In the combined attacks, 3 people were wounded, including a Border Police officer. The attackers were shot and killed. Police suspect that the three terrorists, all from villages in the West Bank, took advantage of the relaxed travel restrictions during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan to enter Israel.
     
    1 June: Mevo Dotan, Samaria: A female terrorist stabbed a soldier, wounding him lightly. The attacker was shot and later died in hospital.
     
    20 May: Qalandia checkpoint: A girl (14) from Jalazun camp was arrested as she tried to pass through the lane for vehicles. She was carrying a knife and claimed that her intention was to perpetrate an attack as revenge for the incident at Damascus Gate (see 7 May below).
     
    13 May: Old City, Jerusalem: An Israeli police officer was wounded in a stabbing attack. The officer managed to shoot and kill the assailant, a Jordanian man, 57, who had arrived in Israel on a tourist visa a few days earlier. [A Jordanian citizen was involved in a similar terrorist attack last September – see 16 September 2016, Damascus Gate.]
     
    9-10 May: Binyamin region: (9 May) In Pesagot, a fire caused by a Molotov cocktail was extinguished without damage or injuries. The next day (10 May) a fire caused by Molotov cocktails was extinguished by Israeli and Palestinian firefighters. In Kokhav Hashakher, fires caused by arson were extinguished without damage or injuries.
     
    7 May: Damascus Gate, Jerusalem: A young Palestinian woman (16) tried to stab police officers and was shot and killed. At least 10 Israelis have been wounded at or near Damascus Gate, and Hadar Cohen, a Border Police officer, was murdered in a stabbing attack there in February 2016.
     
    28 April: Rachel's Tomb: At this holy site, an Israeli officer was lightly wounded by Palestinians throwing stones and Molotov cocktails.
     
    25, 26 April: Nablus: Attempted stabbings perpetrated by a Palestinian (17) and the next day by his cousin (21). In both cases, the assailants were shot and wounded by security forces and no one else was injured.
     
    24 April: Qalandia checkpoint: An Arab woman (41, from Duma near Nablus) stabbed a female guard at the checkpoint, wounding her lightly, and was shot and arrested. The attacker, married and the mother of nine, told her investigators that she has been engaged in a lengthy conflict with her husband, who has threatened to divorce her. She decided to commit a terrorist attack so that the security forces would shoot her because – in her words – she was fed up with her life.
     
    23 April: Tel Aviv: Four Israelis were stabbed and lightly wounded. The assailant (18, from Nablus) was arrested.
     
    19 April: Gush Etzion Junction: Car-ramming attack; an Israeli (70) was moderately injured. The assailant was shot and killed by security forces at the site.
     
    14 April: Jerusalem: Stabbing attack – A British exchange student, Hannah Bladon (21), was stabbed and killed by an Arab passenger while traveling on the light rail. The assailant (57, from Ras el-Amud) was arrested. He has a history of mental illness.
     
    6 April: Ofra, Route 60, Binyamin region: (Preliminary report) Car-ramming attack – Sgt. Elhai Teharlev (20, from Talmon, Binyamin region) killed, another soldier injured. The terrorist, from Silwad, was arrested.
     
    1 April: Old City, Jerusalem: On the afternoon of the Sabbath, a Palestinian (17) stabbed 2 Jewish pedestrians, wounding them lightly, and fled. Border police officers gave chase. The terrorist stabbed one of them and then was shot and killed.
     
    13 March: Old City, Jerusalem: Today, Shushan Purim, a terrorist entered the guard post at the Lions' Gate and attacked two border police officers with a knife, wounding them moderately. While struggling with the assailant, one of the officers succeeded in shooting and killing the terrorist (25, from Jabel Muqaber, an Arab neighborhood in Jerusalem). This is the 9th terrorist from Jabel Muqaber caught committing a terrorist attack since the current wave of attacks began in October 2015; more have been arrested as suspects.
     
    2 February: Adam, Binyamin region: Car-ramming attack –Two police officers and a civilian security guard were wounded when a Palestinian woman drove her vehicle into a police car and a guard post outside the Adam community north of Jerusalem. The assailant confessed that the attack was deliberate (according to Times of Israel).
     
    27 January: near Nili, Binyamin region: Shooting at an Israeli car; the car was damaged but no one was hurt. The next night, two suspects were arrested.
     
    25 January: Cochav Yakov, Binyamin region: Attempted ramming attack against people waiting at a bus stop was thwarted by metal posts placed around the bus stop to prevent just such attacks. The driver (18, from Qalandia), who was holding a knife but did not exit the car, was shot and killed by soldiers who were at the bus stop. The attacker was the cousin of the terrorist who murdered Shlomit Kriegman exactly one year ago today.
             
    Aboud, Binyamin region: Drive-by shooting at soldiers near the Arab village of Aboud. The assailant was shot and wounded.
     
    9 January: Update on yesterday’s attack: Six victims are still in hospital, in moderate to serious condition. Funerals for the four killed will take place today: Lieutenant Yael Yekutiel, 20, of Givatayim; Cadet Shir Hajaj, 22, of Maaleh Adumim; Cadet Shira Tzur, 20, from Haifa; and Cadet Erez Orbach, 20, from Alon Shvut.
     
    8 January 2017: Armon Hanatziv, Jerusalem: Four young people (3 women and one man in their 20s) were killed and 16 injured, when a truck driven by a terrorist left the road, accelerated and plowed into a group of soldiers who had just gotten off of a bus at the Armon Hanatziv promenade. Soldiers in the group and a civilian bystander shot and killed the driver (28, from the nearby Jabel Mukaber neighborhood) as he turned around and backed up to run over the victims again. The injured (one very critically, several seriously and the rest moderately to lightly) were taken to hospital.
     
    3 January 2017: Haifa: An Arab citizen of Haifa shot two men, injuring one and killing Guy Kafri. The victims were chosen at random; the shooter was motivated by hatred of Jews.
     
    25 December: Beit El, Benjamin region: Terrorists fired shots from a vehicle and fled towards Ramallah. No injuries.
     
    24 December: Old City, Jerusalem: Security forces thwarted a stabbing attack by an Arab woman (35) from eastern Jerusalem.

    Ofarim, Benjamin region: Six Molotov cocktails were thrown at cars; no injuries.
     
    23 December: Efrat, Gush Etzion: A man (50) was stabbed and suffered light to moderate injuries. The terrorist escaped.

    Balata camp, Nablus: a soldier was shot and wounded in the leg. Two suspects were arrested.
     
    14 December: Old City, Jerusalem: A resident of the West Bank who was in Israel without a permit stabbed 2 border police officers and a 13-year-old boy, wounding them mildly. One of the officers shot and killed the assailant.
     
    13 December: Qalandia checkpoint: A car headed rapidly towards security forces and was stopped. The female driver exited the car and approached the forces with a knife in her hand, calling “Allahu akbar”. The assailant (30’s, from eastern Jerusalem) was arrested.
     
    8 December: Tapuah Junction, Samaria: A young man (18) who aroused the suspicion of Border Police officers did not heed their calls to stop. When he tried to attack them with a knife, he was shot and killed.
     
    26 November: Shuafat, Jerusalem: A Molotov cocktail was thrown at police officers; no injuries and no arrests.
     
    25 November: Shuafat, Jerusalem: During a routine check of a minibus, a youth (16) pulled a knife and tried to stab an officer. In the struggle, the attacker was killed.
     
    23 November: Hizma (a checkpoint and an Arab town of the same name, at the northern entrance to Jerusalem): Five Molotov cocktails were thrown at a bus.
     
    14 November: Rachel’s Tomb: Arabs threw stones and a pipe bomb at forces.
     
    3 November: Ofra base, Benjamin region: Shots were fired from a passing car; one soldier was lightly wounded.

    Ofra, Benjamin region: A terrorist tried to stab soldiers stationed at a roadside bus stop to provide security, and was shot and killed.
     
    31 October: Focus checkpoint, Beit El: Three IDF soldiers were wounded in a shooting attack, two seriously. The assailant, a member of PA security forces, was shot dead by soldiers. Hints of the shooter’s plans were found in his Facebook posts.
     
    30 October: Beit Ummar, near Hebron: Ramming attack injured three Border Police officers, one moderately and the other two lightly. Other officers shot and killed the terrorist (23, from Beit Ummar).
     
    29 October: Ofra, Benjamin region: A Palestinian attempted to run over soldiers, exited his car and tried to stab them. The soldiers shot and wounded the terrorist, who was taken to Hadassah Hospital.
     
    26 October: Migdal Oz, Gush Etzion: Two young Palestinians (8 years old) carrying knives were apprehended and admitted to having been sent to perpetrate a terrorist attack.
     
    19 October: Tapuah junction: A female Palestinian (19) acting suspiciously refused to halt when Border Police officers called to her and fired warning shots in the air. When she drew a knife and attempted to stab the officers, she was shot and killed.
     
    9 October: Jerusalem: Two murdered in a triple shooting attack from a moving car – Yosef Kirma (29), a police officer and a woman, Levana Melihi (60) The attacker shot at people waiting at a light rail stop in northern Jerusalem, seriously wounding a woman. Continuing the moving attack, he shot and wounded a woman inside her car. Near Sheikh Jarrah he stopped his car and shot at police officers pursuing on motorcycles, wounding Kirma and another officer. Border police shot and killed the attacker. The injured were taken to hospital, where Kirma and Melihi died shortly thereafter. Twelve others were treated; three remain in hospital (Monday morning, 10 October), in light-to-moderate condition. The terrorist, who had Hamas connections, had been repeatedly arrested for security offenses, and had posted hate speech against Jews and against Israel on his Facebook page. Kirma, an officer in the elite tactical response unit Yasam, is survived by his wife of five months, parents and two brothers. Melihi, a retired Knesset employee, left three children and six grandchildren.
     
    30 Sept: Qalandia crossing: Stabbing attack. One of the security forces was moderately to seriously injured. The assailant (28) was killed.
     
    20 Sept: Bani Naim (near Kiryat Arba industrial zone): Palestinian (16) tried to stab a soldier and was shot and killed.

    Two soldiers were injured by petrol bombs thrown by Palestinians in Dahaisha refugee camp near Bethlehem.
     
    19 Sept: Hebron: A Palestinian who tried to stab a soldier was arrested without injury and detained for questioning.

    Hebron: Two Palestinians (17-20) attempted to stab soldiers at a Border Police roadblock. The two assailants were shot; one died on site and the other was taken to hospital and later died of his wounds.

    Flower Gate, Jerusalem: Two police officers were stabbed by a terrorist (20s) resident of eastern Jerusalem. One officer (45), moderately wounded, succeeded in shooting the terrorist, who was seriously wounded. The other officer (female, 38) was critically wounded in the neck and is in intensive care.
     
    18 Sept: Efrat: A terrorist stabbed an officer (30) who was moderately-to-seriously wounded. The terrorist was shot and moderately wounded. Both the wounded were taken to Hadassa Ein Karen Medical Center in Jerusalem.

    Itamar (Samaria): Female Palestinian aroused suspicion and was arrested. She was armed with a knife admitted to planning an attack.
     
    17 Sept: Hebron: On the Sabbath, during a routine check, a terrorist stabbed and lightly wounded a soldier; soldiers on site shot and killed the terrorist.
     
    16 Sept: Hebron: Soldier stabbed; assailant shot and killed.

    Kiryat Arba: Car ramming attack at entrance to town; one attacker killed and a second (female) wounded. Two Israeli teens were lightly injured.

    Damascus Gate, Jerusalem: A Jordanian citizen (28) attacked Israel Police and Border Police officers with knives, while shouting 'Allahu akbar'. The officers shot and killed the terrorist; his body was transferred to Jordan.
     
    5 Sept: Old City, Jerusalem: A female Palestinian (24) aroused the suspicions of the security forces and was arrested. A knife was found in her bag. She stated that she had planned to attack police officers. She had been indicted 3 previous times for similar actions near Hebron.
     
    31 Aug: Joseph’s Tomb, Nablus: A soldier guarding Jewish worshippers at Joseph’s Tomb was shot by fire coming from Balata refugee camp.
     
    24 Aug: Gilad, Samaria: A soldier was stabbed and lightly wounded while chasing a Palestinian stone-thrower. The attacker was killed.
     
    18 Aug: Jerusalem: Israeli riding in a bus was lightly injured by a stone thrown at the bus.
     
    14 Aug: Shaked, Samaria: A female Palestinian got out of her car and stabbed a female soldier, lightly wounding her. The attacker was arrested.
     
    11 Aug: Jerusalem: A young Jew, about 18, was stabbed and wounded moderately while visiting the Mount of Olives cemetery. The attacker was arrested.
     
    31 July: Hawara, Samaria: A terrorist who got out of his car at the checkpoint and attempted to stab soldiers was shot and killed.
     
    26 July: Kalandiya: A female Palestinian (18) who ran at soldiers at the checkpoint and refused orders to halt was shot in the legs and wounded. A knife was found in her bag.
     
    18 July: Route 60, Gush Etzion-Hebron highway: A Palestinian terrorist stabbed two soldiers, wounding them lightly. One of the soldiers shot the terrorist, who later died of his wounds in hospital.
     
    17 July: Jerusalem: A Palestinian standing by a light rail stop in the center of town aroused the suspicions of a security guard, who found several pipe bombs and knives in the Palestinian’s bag. The guard detained the Palestinian and called the police, who cleared the area of civilians and neutralized the bombs.
     
    9 July: Tekoa junction, on the Tekoa-Efrat road: Shooting attack on an Israeli car. An Israeli man (30) was moderately wounded. His wife and five children who were in the car were not hurt.
     
    5 July: near Ariel: A Palestinian woman (17) tried to stab two soldiers. She was shot and wounded and taken to hospital for treatment.
     
    1 July: Route 60, Gush Etzion: Michael “Miki” Mark (48) was killed and his wife seriously wounded in a drive-by shooting in which the car ran off the road and turned over. Two of their children (13 & 15) who were in the car (out of 10 children) were moderately injured.

    [On 26 July, the terrorists responsible for the attack were arrested. One of them was killed in an exchange of fire during the arrest operation.]

    Cave of the Patriarchs, Hebron: A Palestinian woman who tried to stab a female Border Police officer during a security check was shot by another officer on the scene. The attacker (in her 20s, from Bani Naim village) died of her wounds.
     
    30 June: Netanya: Two Israelis were wounded in a stabbing attack near the market. An armed civilian at the site shot and killed the terrorist (40, from Tulkarm).

    Kiryat Arba:
    Hallel Yaffa Ariel (13) was stabbed to death in her bed by a Palestinian (17) from a nearby village. A civilian guard (31) responding to the attack also suffered multiple stab wounds and was accidentally shot by other guards, who shot and killed the attacker.
     
    28 June: Temple Mount: Rioting by young masked Muslims continued, despite the government decision to forbid non-Muslims from visiting the Temple Mount. A woman (73) praying at the Western Wall (below the Temple Mount) was injured by a stone.
     
    27 June: Temple Mount: Riots again took place, by Arabs who congregated overnight in Al-Aqsa mosque and prepared rocks and fireworks and other objects to throw at security forces in the morning. The rioting continued after the non-Muslim visitors were removed from the Mount. Five Arabs were arrested, including a minor.
     
    26 June: Aboud bypass road, Benjamin region: A Molotov cocktail was thrown at an Israeli car. The woman driver was not hurt but damage was caused to the car. Security forces traced footsteps of two suspects leading in the direction of nearby village Dir Abu Mashal.

    Temple Mount: Masked Arabs threw stones at police officers who were on the Temple Mount to ensure that visits to the holy site during the Ramadan fast would be able to take place as usual. One Israeli police officer and two Waqf guards were lightly injured. Five Muslim rioters, from the West Bank and from abroad, were arrested.

    Update on 10 May bomb attack near Hizme: The ISA, assisted by the IDF, arrested the terrorist (a dentist, 36, from Abu Dis) who carried out the bomb attack in which an IDF officer was severely wounded.  Other people connected to the terrorist and involved in the attack in some way were also detained. Fifty-six small pipe bombs and other bombs were seized.
     
    24 June: near Kiryat Arba: A female Palestinian driver rammed into a car at a hitch-hiking stop, lightly injuring two Israelis. A soldier at the scene shot and killed her.
     
    21 June: Route 443, between Jerusalem and Modiin: Last night, Palestinians threw stones at cars traveling on Route 443, a major artery between Jerusalem and the center of the country. One terrorist was killed, one injured and several arrested by security forces.
     
    19 June: Benjamin region, north of Jerusalem: A boy was lightly injured by a stone thrown in the Shaar Benyamin commercial/industrial center.
     
    18 June: Psagot, Benjamin region (Samaria): Petrol bombs (reportedly over 20) were thrown at the settlement; no injuries.
     
    17 June: Jerusalem:  Four petrol bombs were thrown at a house on Meir Nakar Street from the direction ofJabel Mukaber. Slight damage to the house. Four Palestinians from Hebron, in Israel illegally, were arrested for questioning.
     
    13 June: Improvement in the condition of the injured (including the Palestinian Arab terrorist) from the Sarona attack on 8 June.
     
    8 June: Sarona, Tel Aviv: Shooting attack: Four people - Ido Ben Ari, Ilana Navaa, Michael Feige and Mila Mishayev – were murdered and about 17 wounded by machine gun fire, by two Palestinian men dressed in suits and ties who had been sitting at the popular café Max Brenner in the Sarona complex. The attackers, two cousins from Yatta in the West Bank, were arrested by police who quickly arrived at the scene. One, who refused to give himself up, was shot and wounded by a security guard; he was hospitalized together with his wounded victims.
     
    6 June: Route 465, Benjamin region (Samaria): Shooting attack – a lone terrorist shone a flashlight on cars coming around a sharp curve in the road, and shot at them. No one was injured.
     
    5 June: Road 437 approaching Jerusalem: Massive stone-throwing at a bus resulted in light injury to the driver and damage to the bus.
     
    2 June: Joseph’s Tomb, Nablus: Two assailants threw Molotov cocktails at Jewish worshippers. Security forces shot and seriously wounded one attacker, who was taken for medical treatment.

    Near Einav community: A female Arab tried to stab a soldier; soldiers shot and killed her.
     
    1 June: Maccabim, Route 443: A driver whose car was stoned lost control and hit a guardrail. The driver was lightly injured
     
    30 May: Tel Aviv: An Arab from Salfit (17) stabbed a soldier with a screwdriver. The assailant was arrested.
     
    24 May: Jerusalem: Arabs threw rocks at a city bus, smashing the windshield. No one on the bus was physically injured.
     
    23 May: Checkpoint north of Jerusalem: Female Arab terrorist (17) attempted to stab Border Guard police officers and was shot and killed.
     
    22 May: Hawara, Samaria: Molotov cocktail thrown at a bus passing through the village. The back end of the bus caught fire; no injuries reported.

    Highway 443, between Jerusalem and Modiin: Stones were thrown at a bus, causing damage but no bodily injuries to passengers.
     
    21 May: Gush Etzion: Shots were fired at a passenger bus, with no injuries. The bus sustained damage.
     
    19 May: Shuafat, Jerusalem: a young Arab (16) acting in a suspicious manner was arrested in possession of a knife and admitted his intention to carry out a stabbing attack.
     
    10 May: Hizma, near Jerusalem: An IDF officer was seriously wounded and a soldier lightly wounded by pipe bombs that exploded while forces were on patrol in the area just north of Jerusalem. The forces found 5 more pipe bombs and estimate that a large terrorist attack was foiled.

    Jerusalem: Two women (82 and 86) were moderately injured in a stabbing attack on the Armon Hanatziv promenade. A group of elderly women were going for a walk when they were attacked by two young masked Arabs, who fled the scene.
     
    03 May: near Dolev, northwest of Jerusalem: Three IDF soldiers were injured, one critically, in a ramming attack in the Benyamin region. The attacker was shot and killed by IDF forces at the site.
     
    02 May: Old City, Jerusalem: A man (60) was stabbed and is in moderate condition. The attacker fled and was later apprehended.

    Update on the 19 April bus bombing in Jerusalem (see below): One of the victims, Eden Levy (16), who suffered severe burns all over her body, and has been kept sedated in the hospital since the attack, regained consciousness. Doctors say her condition is stable. Hundreds of callers answered a radio appeal for the donation of a laptop so Eden can keep up with her studies while she is recovering.
     
    01 May: near Efrat (Gush Etzion): Palestinians threw rocks at a car in which a woman and three children were traveling. Two injured, including a young child.
     
    19 April: Jerusalem: At least 19 people injured in a bus bombing. People on the bus, and on a bus and car nearby, were injured by broken glass, shrapnel and the fire that broke out in the bus, burning it completely. As of this morning, 13 people are hospitalized, including one severely injured man who later died of his wounds and was identified as the terrorist (19) from Beit Jala, evidently a member of Hamas.
     
    14 April: Al-Arub, Gush Etzion: An Arab man attacked a group of soldiers with an axe, hitting one soldier’s helmet without wounding him. The attacker was shot and killed. Two-three hours later, about 150 Palestinians from Al-Arub rioted; a soldier was injured lightly by a stone.

    Hwy 431, between Ramla-Nes Ziona: A woman (24) was lightly injured by a stone thrown at her car.

    The Old City, Jerusalem: Two 12-year-old boys were arrested for questioning when, at a checkpoint at one of the gates to the Old City, 3 knives were found in one of the boys’ knapsack along with a goodbye letter to his parents.
     
    3 April: Rosh Ha-ayin (center of country): An Arab woman (23, from Kfar Kassem) attacked and lightly wounded a young Israeli woman (30). Civilians in the vicinity subdued the attacker, who was arrested.
     
    25 March: Isawiya (an Arab neighborhood in Jerusalem): A 15-year-old Palestinian girl approached a group of Border Police officers in the French Hill area, drew a knife and attempted to stab them. She was arrested.
     
    24 March: Tel Rumeida (near Hebron): Two Palestinians stabbed an IDF soldier who sustained light to moderate wounds. Both assailants were shot and killed.
     
    18 March: Gush Etzion Junction: Three Palestinians attacked IDF soldiers with knives. One assailant was shot and killed, and the other two arrested.
     
    17 March: Ariel junction: Two terrorists stabbed a young woman (~20), wounding her moderately to seriously. The two assailants were shot and killed.
     
    14 March: Elias Junction (near Kiryat Arba): Two Palestinians attempted a car ramming attack, later opening fire on civilians and soldiers standing in a nearby bus stop, near the entrance to Kiryat Arba. Both assailants were killed by IDF soldiers. A soldier was slightly wounded in the shooting. The two gunmen were armed with a pistol and a Carl Gustav rifle.
     
                Elias Junction (near Kiryat Arba): Shortly after the first incident, another vehicular attack took place at the same stop. An IDF officer was lightly wounded and two soldiers were lightly injured by shrapnel. The terrorist was shot and killed.
     
    11 March: Road 443, near the Beit Horon Checkpoint: Two IDF soldiers were lightly wounded in a shooting incident Friday evening on Road 443. An Arab driver who arrived at the checkpoint shot at the soldiers with a handgun and drove away. 
     
    Jerusalem, near Jaffa Gate: An Israeli man (29) was moderately wounded on Friday afternoon in a stabbing attack which took place in the Ma’alot Chaldiyah alley near the Jaffa Gate. The attacker, a 19-year-old Palestinian from the West Bank, fled the scene of the attack but was caught by police after a brief manhunt.
    9 March: Jerusalem, Ramot Junction; near Damascus Gate: The incident began when passengers on a bus near the Ramot Junction spotted two gunmen on the street and heard shots fired. The two assailants fled the scene in their car. When spotted by police, a gun battle ensued which resulted in the serious wounding of a 50-year-old-man, resident of East Jerusalem and the death of the two Palestinian attackers. 
     
    8 March: Tel Aviv-Jaffa: 29-year-old Taylor Force, an American tourist, was stabbed to death, and 11 other civilians were wounded by a Palestinian assailant, among them the wife of the victim and a pregnant woman. The stabbing spree began near the Jaffa port, and the assailant escaped on foot along the Tel Aviv beach promenade, stabbing passersby and motorists before he was shot and killed by police.
     
                Petah Tikva: Stabbing attack. A 40-year-old man was moderately wounded by a Palestinian attacker inside a store in the center of town. The victim removed the knife from his neck, and stabbed the attacker to death.
     
                Jerusalem, near Damascus Gate: Two Border Police officers were wounded, one critically, when a terrorist on a motorcycle opened fire with an automatic weapon on Salah a-Din Street, near Damascus Gate. The assailant was shot and killed.
     
                Jerusalem, Old City: A Palestinian woman approached Border Police officers, drew a knife from her bag and tried to stab them. She was shot and killed.
     
    4 March: Gush Etzion junction: Ramming attack – A woman rammed her car into a group of soldiers, injuring one soldier (20). The attacker was shot and killed. A knife was found in her car.
     
    3 March: Uja, Jordan Valley: A police officer directing traffic on Route 90 was stabbed by a 14-year-old girl from the nearby village. The lightly injured officer managed to arrest the attacker without shooting.

    Rahelim, Samaria, north of Jerusalem: Shooting attack on a police car; an officer was lightly wounded.
     
    2 March: Har Bracha, Samaria: Stabbing attack – two soldiers were wounded, one moderately and one lightly. The two attackers fled.

    Eli (north of Jerusalem): An attempt to massacre a family ended in two terrorists killed and one Jewish man lightly injured. Around 6 a.m., two terrorists (17) waited outside a house in an outlying neighborhood of Eli. When the man opened the door to go to morning prayers, one of the terrorists rushed in and attacked him with a knife and a wooden club. The man succeeded in pushing the terrorist out and locking the door, thus protecting his wife and 5 children inside the house. Local security forces responded quickly and killed the two terrorists.
     
    26 Feb. Maaleh Adumim: A security guard (48) at the shopping center was very seriously wounded by a terrorist armed with an axe. The terrorist worked in one of the stores in the shopping center and the two men knew each other. The suspected attacker was arrested on 28 February.
     
    24 Feb. Gush Etzion junction: Maj. (res.) Eliav Gelman (30) died after being critically wounded by a bullet fired by IDF forces to neutralize a terrorist who was attempting to stab him. IDF soldiers shot and moderately wounded the terrorist, identified as a math teacher in a Hebron area school.

    Jerusalem: Police apprehended two men with pipe bombs and ammunition hidden in their bagel cart near Herod's Gate in the Old City.
     
    21 Feb. Tapuah Junction (Samaria): A young Palestinian woman aroused suspicions of border police officers at the junction when she attempted to approach the area where Jews were waiting for rides. A large knife was found in her possession. The woman was arrested and taken in for questioning, where she confessed that Palestinian social networks, which encourage violence against Jews, influenced her decision to carry out an attack.

    Near Hebron: A 14-year-old Palestinian who tried to open the door of a military vehicle and stab one of the soldiers was arrested.

    Bitot Junction (near Nablus): In the third attempted stabbing of the day, a 15-year-old assailant was arrested while trying to stab a soldier.
     
    20 Feb. Jerusalem, near Damascus Gate: Attempted stabbing attack foiled – An 18-year-old Palestinian man was arrested when he pulled out a knife in an attempt to stab border policemen.
     
    19 Feb. Jerusalem, Damascus Gate: Two Border Police officers were wounded in a stabbing attack. The assailant, 20, entered the gate, then assaulted the officers from behind. He was shot and killed by one of the officers. A 50-year-old Palestinian woman was lightly wounded from shrapnel.

    Silwad (northeast of Ramallah): A terrorist who attempted to run over IDF soldiers was shot and killed.
     
    18 Feb. Sha’ar Binyamin (industrial center north of Jerusalem): Off-duty St.-Sgt. Tuvia Yanai Weissman was killed while trying to stop two Palestinian teenage terrorists from stabbing shoppers at a Rami Levy supermarket. He was shopping with his wife and 4-month-old baby. Another person was moderately wounded. The assailants, both 14 from Beitunia near Ramallah, were shot. One was killed, the other wounded.
     
    15 Feb. Jerusalem: near the Damascus Gate. A young Palestinian woman (15) was arrested following an attempted stabbing attack on security forces patrolling the area. When security forces approached the woman, who aroused their suspicion, she pulled out a large knife, and was taken into custody. A second knife was found in her possession.
     
    14 Feb. Jerusalem: near the Damascus Gate: A man, who was carrying a bag and acting suspiciously, pulled out an automatic rifle and aimed it at police officers, who shot and killed him before he could use the weapon. The officers then responded to automatic fire from another direction and shot and killed a second attacker. Both attackers were in their 20’s.

    Beit El – Terrorists from nearby Jalazun shot at a house, damaging a window but not causing any injuries.

    Hebron: A female Palestinian drew a knife and attempted to stab a soldier near the Cave of the Patriarchs. She was shot and seriously injured.

    Tekoa-Har Homa (Mazmoriya Checkpoint): A man with a knife charged police officers at the checkpoint. The officers shot and killed the attacker with no further casualties.

    Near Hinanit (West of Jenin): an IDF patrol was shot at by two Palestinian teenagers. Both were shot and killed. A gun and a knife were found in their possession.
     
    13 Feb. Hebron: Stabbing attack on the Sabbath, near the Cave of the Patriarchs. A woman stabbed a soldier and then stabbed a Palestinian man (50) who tried to stop her. The soldier and the Palestinian man sustained light-to-moderate injuries; the attacker was shot and killed by security forces.
     
    09 Feb. Neve Daniel (Gush Etzion, east of Jerusalem): A man (28) was stabbed and moderately wounded near the community of Neve Daniel. The attacker fled to nearby Nahalin village. Several suspects were arrested.
     
    06 Feb. Rahat: A woman (in 60’s) was stabbed and moderately wounded in the shuk (market) in Rahat, in the Negev. The attacker fled.
     
    05 Feb. Ariel: A car was shot at near Ariel, in Samaria.
     
    04 Feb. Ramle (center of the country): Two 13-year-old girls stabbed a security guard at the central bus station. The guard sustained light injuries; the girls were arrested.

    Thirty-one (31) instances of rock-throwing or Molotov cocktails thrown mostly at cars and buses, in or near Jerusalem, in Gush Etzion, on Route 443 and other places.
     
    03 Feb. Jerusalem, Damascus Gate: Officer Hadar Cohen (19) was murdered when three terrorists attacked Border Police officers – while one of the Palestinians gave his ID to an officer, the other two pulled out guns and knives and attacked the officers. In addition to Hadar, who was critically wounded and died of her wounds in hospital, another female officer was seriously injured. The assailants, who entered Israel illegally from the Jenin area armed with guns, knives and explosives, were shot and killed at the scene. Preliminary investigation reveals that the officers prevented a much more serious attack.
     
    01 Feb. Jerusalem, Old City: Stabbing attack foiled – A 14 ½ year old boy was arrested in possession of a knife and admitted that he had planned to carry out a stabbing attack.

    Sal’it, a community east of Kfar Saba: Attempted stabbing attack; assailant shot and killed by forces on the scene.
     
    31 Jan. Route 443: Assailant attempted to ram vehicle into IDF soldiers manning a checkpoint near Beit Ur a-Tahta; he was shot.

    Beit El: Three soldiers were shot at the nearby checkpoint; one was seriously wounded in the stomach, but his condition stabilized after reaching hospital and successful surgery. The assailant was shot and killed by IDF forces (and his body was given over to the Palestinians).
     
    30 Jan. Jerusalem, Old City: Stabbing attack – A group of Arab teens, two brandishing knives, attacked two Jewish men on their way back from Sabbath prayers at the Kotel (Western Wall). One of them (17-year-old American-Israeli) was wounded lightly in the back. One of the assailants (17, from an eastern Jerusalem neighborhood) later turned himself in to the police.
    As of 31 January, three teenaged suspects have been arrested.
     
    27 Jan. Givat Zeev, north of Jerusalem: Stabbing attack – An Arab terrorist (17½) attacked a man (35) with a knife as he was about to enter a restaurant with his wife. While one owner administered first aid and called an ambulance, the other owner, a restaurant worker and other civilians gave chase and caught the assailant and held him until the police arrived.
     
    25 Jan. Beit Horon (Benjamin region): Stabbing attack – Two terrorists (age 17 & 23) infiltrated the settlement and attacked two women near the local grocery store. Shlomit Kriegman (23) died of her wounds. The other woman was moderately wounded. The terrorists also placed pipe bombs next to the store. The terrorists (one from Kalandiya refugee camp and one from Beit Ur al-Tahta village) were shot and killed by the settlement security officer.
     
    24 Jan. Dolev (Benjamin region): Shots were fired at a car, six bullets hitting it. The driver wasn’t hurt; was treated on site for anxiety attack.
     
    23 Jan. Anatot (east of Jerusalem): A girl (13) attacked a security guard with a knife and was shot and killed.
     
    20 Jan. Tulkarem: IDF soldier lightly wounded by gunfire during patrol in nearby village.
     
    18 Jan. south of Nablus: Attempted stabbing attack, no injuries – assailant with a knife surrendered when the forces threatened to shoot him.

    Shuafat, Jerusalem: Attempted stabbing attack, no injuries – a young man holding a knife approached police officers checking suspects in a rock-throwing incident. When he realized they were police, he tried to flee but was apprehended.

    Tekoa (in Gush Etzion): Pregnant woman (30) stabbed. Her condition is moderate; the fetus is fine. The attacker (15) was shot.
     
    17 Jan. Otniel, between Hebron and Beer Sheva: Sunday evening, Dafna Meir (38, mother of 6 – two of them foster children – and a nurse at Soroka Hospital) was stabbed to death in her home in the presence of three of her children. The Palestinian assailant fled. Two days later, the terrorist (15, from nearby Yatta village) was arrested.

    The teenage murderer confessed during questioning that Palestinian TV, which regularly misrepresents events and encourages violence against Jews, had a big influence on him and his decision to carry out the attack.

    2 Jan. Jerusalem – on the road to Gush Etzion: Shooting at passing cars; Arab Israeli lightly wounded.
     
    1 Jan. 2016: Tel Aviv: In a shooting attack at a pub, two killed – Alon Bakal (26), the pub’s manager, and Shimon Ruime (30) – and 8 injured, two seriously. [Four days later, the two men seriously injured were still in intensive care, but conditions of both are slowly improving.] An hour after the pub shooting, Amin Shaaban (42, father of 11), a taxi driver from Lod, was found shot dead in his vehicle in another part of Tel Aviv; the police announced on 7 January that he was murdered by the same shooter. The assailant (Nashat Milhem, 29, Arab-Israeli citizen from Arara village in northern Israel, whose father and brothers called on him to give himself up) was killed in a shootout with security forces a week after the attack.
     
    31 Dec. Samaria (between Hawara and Tapuah on Route 60): Ramming attack – one soldier lightly injured; driver shot and killed.
     
    27 Dec. Hawara (south of Nablus): Stabbing attack by two terrorists; a soldier was wounded. The terrorists (17 & 27, from Jenin) were shot and killed by soldiers on site; one soldier was mistakenly hit by the fire.

    Three stabbing attacks were foiled, one in Hebron, one in Samaria, and one in the Old City of Jerusalem. The assailants, an Arab man who crossed into Jerusalem illegally, and two Arab women (one of them 15 years old), were apprehended.

    Jerusalem: IDF soldier (18) was stabbed and moderately wounded near the central bus station. Assailant (resident of eastern Jerusalem) was arrested.
     
    26 Dec. Hawara checkpoint: Soldier lightly injured in a ramming attack. Assailant (56) shot by forces; later died of wounds in Nablus hospital.

    Jerusalem: Stabbing attack foiled – Resident (26) of Ras el-Amud, an eastern Jerusalem neighborhood, aroused suspicions of police officers (security cameras show that the Arab sat and waited in the area between Jaffa Gate and Tzahal Square; when he saw a man wrapped in a tallis – prayer showl – walking with his children on their way to Sabbath morning prayers, he followed them). When confronted by the officer, he pulled out a large knife. The officer shot him once; when the assailant continued to move towards the officers with the knife, he was shot a second time and killed on site.
     
    25 Dec. Bethlehem: Palestinians threw stones at the vehicle of the Latin Patriarch, Fuad Twal, who was visiting Bethlehem on Christmas day.

    Silwad, near Ofra in the Benjamin region of Samaria: Attempted ramming attack by an Arab woman (40). The driver was shot and killed on site.
     
    24 Dec. Hebron: A Palestinian attempted to stab security forces; assailant was shot.

    Ariel: A Palestinian armed with a knife stabbed two people in Ariel. The two victims were security personnel. The assailant was shot.
     
    23 Dec. Jerusalem: Near Jaffa Gate, two Palestinians (19 & 20, from Kalandia refugee camp) attacked passersby with knives. Rabbi Reuven Birmajer (45, father of seven), died of multiple stab wounds. Ofer Ben-Ari (46) died of wounds from a stray bullet when two Border Police officers shot the assailants and stopped the attack. A third man was wounded. The terrorists were shot and killed. Both have been imprisoned before for security offenses.
     
    20 Dec. Hebron: A gunman shot at IDF forces; no injuries.

    Hebron: A female assailant who tried to stab a soldier was shot and apprehended.
     
    19 Dec. Raanana: Arab stabbed 3 Israelis. One man was seriously wounded; after receiving medical attention, he is in moderate condition. The assailant was arrested.
     
    17-18 Dec: Attacks continue – south of Nablus, a terrorist tried to stab security forces and was shot and killed; at Kalandia Crossing, a Palestinian assailant tried to ram vehicle into security forces and was shot and wounded; another assailant was shot in a car ramming attack during a violent riot near Ramallah.
     
    14 Dec. Beit Aryeh – Luban: Three Israelis were lightly injured by a huge rock that crashed through the windshield of their car.

    Jerusalem: Eleven to fourteen people (reports differ) were injured in a vehicular ramming attack at a bus stop opposite the Calatrava Bridge at the entrance to Jerusalem, around 3 pm on Monday afternoon. The injured include two moderately, a 15-month-old baby who was seriously injured, and the baby’s mother. The baby underwent micro-surgery to save his foot, which was nearly cut off in the attack. The terrorist (21, originally from the Beit Hanina neighborhood in Jerusalem, currently residing in Hebron) was shot and killed by security forces.
     
    13 Dec. Kiryat Arba, Gush Etzion: A Palestinian woman who attempted to stab a civilian was shot and apprehended by IDF forces.
     
    11 Dec. Halhoul Junction, near Kiryat Arba: A terrorist who attempted to run over IDF soldiers was shot and killed.

    Gilboa (Jalame) Crossing: Shots were fired at soldiers from a Palestinian vehicle. Attacker was shot and wounded by IDF forces and later arrested by PA police.
     
    10 Dec. Between Beit Aryeh community and Luban village in the Benyamin region of Samaria: Ramming attack injured 4 soldiers, 2 lightly, one moderately and one seriously (20). The terrorist (a member of Hamas) was apprehended after a search.
     
    9 Dec. Afula, northern Israel: Stabbing attack foiled when 3 Arab teens from Jenin were apprehended in possession of butcher knifes.

    Samaria: A Jewish man was seriously injured, and his wife lightly injured, when 23 bullets hit their car in a drive-by shooting attack on the road from Avney Hefetz. The attackers are suspected of fleeing to nearby Tulkarm.

    Hebron: A terrorist stabbed a soldier and a civilian at a checkpoint near Beit Hadassah. The soldier was moderately wounded; the civilian lightly wounded. The terrorist (cousin of the terrorist who carried out the stabbing attack near the Tomb of the Patriarchs on 7 Dec.) was shot and killed by security forces.
     
    7 Dec. Hebron: Gennady Kaufman (41) was very critically injured in a stabbing attack near the Tomb of the Patriarchs. He died on 30 December. The assailant (21) was shot and killed.
     
    6 Dec. Jerusalem: An Arab resident (21) of the Beit Hanina neighborhood in Jerusalem ran over two civilians with his car and then exited the vehicle and stabbed a volunteer police officer. A soldier who happened to be in the area shot and killed the attacker. Three people were lightly injured and a number of witnesses to the attack were treated for anxiety.
     
    5 Dec. Hebron: Female Palestinian (18) drew a knife at a checkpoint and was arrested.
     
    4 Dec:  Ofra, Benyamin Region (northwest of Jerusalem): Two IDF soldiers were injured in a ramming attack. The Palestinian driver was shot and killed by soldiers on the scene.

    Abud, Benyamin Region (northwest of Jerusalem): Palestinian stabbed an IDF soldier in the neck. The attacker (27) was shot and killed at the scene. The soldier is in good condition.

    Hebron: Two terrorists – one stabbed a soldier; both terrorists shot and killed on site.
     
    3 Dec. Jerusalem, near the Old City: Terrorist stabbed a police officer (35) and was killed.

    Pesagot, Benyamin Region (near Ramallah): Shots fired at an Israeli car; no injuries.

    Hizma checkpoint, Jerusalem: A Palestinian man (member of the PA intelligence agency) exited his car and opened fire. One soldier (20) and one civilian (47, Israeli Arab) were wounded. IDF troops returned fire and killed the gunman.
     
    2 Dec. Shuafat, Jerusalem: Shooting at soldiers; no injuries and no arrests.
     
    1 Dec. Einav junction, near Nablus, Samaria: Following an attempt to stab an officer, a female assailant was shot and killed.

    Gush Etzion: Terrorist (16) who tried to stab a man (35) at a hitchhiking stop, was shot and killed. One Israeli man was lightly injured by the gunfire.
     
    29 Nov. Jerusalem: Woman (in 30’s, foreign worker) stabbed, lightly wounded. Assailant (17) arrested.

    Jerusalem: A police officer was moderately wounded in a stabbing attack near Damascus Gate. The terrorist was shot and killed.
     
    27 Nov. Beit Omar, near Hebron: Six soldiers were injured in a car ramming attack. The terrorist was shot and killed.

    Kfar Adumim junction: Two soldiers were injured in a car ramming attack at a bus stop. The terrorist (from El Bira, near Ramallah) was shot and killed. His brother perpetrated a ramming/stabbing attack in the same area on Sunday (22 Nov.) and was shot and killed.
     
    25 Nov. Al-Fawar junction, south of Hebron: An IDF soldier was stabbed and seriously wounded. The assailant (19), a student at the Palestine Technical College, was shot and killed.
     
    24 Nov. Samaria – Tapuah Junction: Car ramming attack; 3 soldiers and a Border Police officer injured. Terrorist (21, from Jenin) was shot at the scene.
     
    23 Nov. Route 443: Ziv Mizrahi (18) was stabbed to death and two women were injured in a terrorist attack at a gas station on the highway between Jerusalem and Modi’in. Ziv had just started his army service three months ago. The attacker was shot. [On 9 August, a stabbing attack took place at the same site; an Israeli man was lightly injured and the attacker was shot and killed by IDF forces.]

    Samaria, near Nablus: Stabbing attack – Palestinian who tried to stab a soldier was shot and killed.

    Northern Samaria: Attempted ramming attack. One civilian lightly wounded; driver escaped.

     Jerusalem: Stabbing attack on Jaffa Road. Two Palestinian teens (female, age 14 and 16, from Qalandia, in northern Jerusalem) attacked passers-by with scissors, wounding an elderly (70) Palestinian man. Security forces shot and killed one assailant and wounded the second. A security guard was lightly wounded by shrapnel from gunfire used against the attackers. The terrorist who was killed was the sister of a terrorist who was killed by IDF forces in 2013.
     
    22 Nov. Gush Etzion junction: Hadar Buchris (21) was stabbed to death by a terrorist (34, from Beit Fajar near Bethlehem), who was shot and killed by security forces.

    Kfar Adumim: Attempted ramming/stabbing attack. A Palestinian taxi driver rammed his car into an Israeli car on Route 1, by Kfar Adumim junction. . He then got out of the car and stabbed the Israeli driver in the hand. A passenger in the Israeli car shot and killed the terrorist (32, from Ramallah).

    Samaria Brigade Junction: Stabbing attack foiled – A Palestinian (16, female from Nablus) pulled out a knife and charged at a young woman waiting at a bus stop. The assailant was spotted by a civilian driver (former Samaria Council head Gershon Mesika), who ran into her with his car to stop her. Security forces at the site shot the assailant, who died at the scene.
     
    21 Nov. Kiryat Gat: Four people wounded in a stabbing attack, including a 13-year-old girl (who called the police and stopped the bleeding by herself, until the ambulance arrived). The terrorist was apprehended after a five-hour manhunt. The terrorist (18, from Kfar Tapuah in Samaria) was in Israel illegally, working in Kiryat Gat.
     
    19 Nov. Gush Etzion Junction, southern Jerusalem: In a shooting and car ramming attack, three people were killed – Yaakov Don (49, father of five), Ezra Schwartz (18, an American volunteer) and Shadi Arafa (24, a Palestinian from Hebron) – and at least five injured. Assailant apprehended.

    Tel Aviv: In a stabbing attack,
    Rabbi Aharon Yesayev (32, father of five), and Reuven Aviran (51), were killed and one man was wounded. The terrorist was shot and apprehended. The attack occurred in a Tel Aviv synagogue during afternoon prayers.
     
    13 Nov. Near Otniel, south of Hebron: Rabbi Ya'akov Litman (44) and his son, Netanel (18) were murdered in a drive-by shooting, while traveling to celebrate the Shabbat before the eldest daughter’s wedding [originally set for 17 November]. The rabbi’s wife and 4 other children in the vehicle were lightly wounded. Security forces arrested the terrorist responsible.

    10 Nov. Jerusalem, Pisgat Zeev: Two young Arabs (ages 11 & 14) stabbed and moderately wounded a light-rail security guard. The two attackers were apprehended; the 11-year-old was shot and critically wounded.

    Jerusalem, Damascus Gate: A terrorist attacked security forces with a knife and was killed.

    Bethlehem/Abu Dis: Attempted stabbing attack on security forces; terrorist was killed.
     
    09 Nov. near Alfei Menashe, northern Samaria: Attempted stabbing by a Palestinian woman (23, from Qalqilya). She was shot and killed by security forces.
     
    08 Nov. Tapuah Junction (Samaria): Four Israelis were wounded in a car-ramming attack directed at a group of people at a hitchhiking stop. The injured include a pregnant woman lightly injured and two in serious condition (one still in intensive care on 9 Nov). The attacker (22, from Ramallah) was shot and killed by security forces.

    Beitar Ilit (south of Jerusalem): A civilian security guard was lightly wounded in a stabbing attack. The assailant, a Palestinian woman, was shot and wounded.  (See

    : An Israeli man (40) was seriously injured in a stabbing attack in the Palestinian village of Nabi Ilyas, when he stopped to shop at a stall. Two assailants (from Qalqilya) turned themselves in to Palestinian security forces.
     
    06 Nov. Sha’ar Binyamin (commercial center north of Jerusalem): An Israeli was injured in a stabbing attack.

    Hebron: Two Jewish teens, aged 16 and 18, were injured – one seriously – in a shooting attack near the Tomb of the Patriarchs. A short time later, an Israeli soldier was severely injured in a shooting attack at the Beit Anun junction north of Hebron. The assailant (16, from the village of Bani Naim) was apprehended.

    Halhul checkpoint: Ramming attack on soldiers. Female terrorist (72) was shot and killed.

    04 Nov. Hebron area: A Border Police officer, St.-Sgt. Binyamin Yakobovitch (19) was critically injured in a ramming attack; he died of his wounds on 8 November. Another officer was lightly injured in the attack. The terrorist was shot dead at the scene by security forces.
     
    02 Nov. Jalameh (Gilboa) crossing, near Afula: Attempted stabbing attack on IDF soldiers. One attacker was shot and killed, and a second one apprehended.

    Rishon Lezion: Three Israelis were injured, two seriously (including an 80-year-old woman) and one lightly, in a stabbing attack near the central bus station. The attacker (19, from Hebron area) was apprehended.

    Netanya (coastal city north of Tel Aviv): A 70-year-old man was stabbed and is in serious condition. The attacker (22, from Tulkarem area) was wounded and apprehended by security forces.
     
    01 Nov. Kiryat Arba/Hebron: Attempted stabbing attack of IDF soldier during a violent riot. Assailant shot and killed.

    Beit Anun checkpoint, north of Kiryat Arba/Hebron: Three Border Police officers were injured in a vehicle ramming attack, one officer moderately and the other two lightly. The driver fled the scene and later turned himself in to the DCL in Hebron; he is being questioned.
     
    31 Oct. Jalameh (Gilboa) checkpoint, near Afula: Knifing attack foiled by security forces. The attacker was shot and killed. The checkpoint was temporarily closed.
     
    30 Oct. Jerusalem: 2 Israeli civilians injured in stabbing attack. Assailant shot on site.

    Tapuah Junction, Samaria (West Bank): Attempted stabbing of Border Police officers. Attackers shot on site.  
     
    29 Oct. Hebron: IDF soldier stabbed in head and lightly wounded near the Tomb of the Patriarchs. Attacker was shot and killed by security forces.

    28 Oct. Gush Etzion: A woman (mother of 8 children) was stabbed in the back and moderately wounded. The attack occurred next to a supermarket where she had just gone shopping. The attacker was apprehended.

    Hebron: A Palestinian attempted to stab a soldier and was shot and killed.
     
    27 Oct. Hebron: Two Arabs shouting “we’ve come to liberate Palestine” were arrested by security forces when they refused to submit to security check. Knives were found in their possession.

    Jerusalem: Terror attack foiled – Two Arab teens (17 & 16) from eastern Jerusalem armed with an axe and a knife were arrested in the center of town (Kikar Tzahal).
     
    26 Oct. Kiryat Arbah (Gush Etzion, south of Jerusalem): Israeli soldier seriously injured in stabbing attack this morning. The soldier managed to shoot and kill the attacker before he collapsed and was taken to hospital.

    Hebron, near Tomb of the Patriarchs: Stabbing attack foiled by security forces, who shot and killed the terrorist.
     
    25 Oct. Metzad (Gush Etzion bloc): Ambush and stabbing attack – An Israeli driver (58) was forced to stop on the road, which was blocked. A terrorist smashed his windshield and stabbed him repeatedly. The Israeli managed to shoot him in the legs. He was taken to hospital in moderate condition. A man who was reportedly admitted to the hospital in Hebron in serious condition is evidently the terrorist.

    Hebron: Female Arab terrorist (17, from Hebron) attempted to stab border police officers with a knife. The officers shot and killed her.

    Ariel junction (Samaria): Israeli (25) waiting for a ride was stabbed by a Palestinian (26, from a village near Nablus), who fled. Security forces located and arrested him later that evening.
     
    24 Oct. Jalameh (Gilboa) crossing, north of Jenin in the West Bank: A young Palestinian (16) posing as a sweets vendor tried to stab a security guard and was shot and killed.
     
    23 Oct. Route 60, north of Jerusalem: Five family members – parents and 3 children – were lightly to moderately injured when Palestinian terrorists threw a firebomb at their vehicle.
     
    22 Oct. Beit Shemesh (central Israel): A yeshiva student (18) was lightly injured in a stabbing attack by two Palestinians, who were shot by police.
     
    21 Oct. Yitzhar (a Jewish community in Samaria): Attack foiled when security forces noticed a woman (15) approaching the gate armed with a knife. The woman was shot and apprehended.

    Kikar Adam, north of Jerusalem: Two terrorists stabbed a female soldier (19), seriously wounding her. When one of the terrorists attacked another soldier, she shot and killed him. The other attacker was apprehended.

    Maale Adumim (east of Jerusalem): Attack foiled when security forces found home-made explosive devices in a car. Two Palestinians were arrested.

    Gush Etzion, near Bethlehem (Route 60): Five soldiers injured – After their vehicle was stoned, the soldiers got out to arrest the stone-throwers and were rammed by a Palestinian car. The attacking driver was shot and seriously wounded.
     
    20 Oct. near Hebron: A soldier was lightly wounded by a knife-wielding Palestinian during riots. Soldiers shot and killed the Palestinian (24), a resident of nearby Beit Awa.

    Fawwar, southwest of Hebron:
    Avraham Asher Hasno (54) was run over and killed by a truck when he exited his vehicle after it was stoned.

    Gush Etzion junction: Attempted ramming-stabbing. A soldier (20) and a civilian (21) were lightly injured. The terrorist was shot and killed.

    Hebron: Two Palestinians stabbed an IDF soldier, lightly wounding him. The attackers (aged 15 and 17) were shot and killed.
     
    18 Oct. Beer Sheva: Two killed, 11 wounded – IDF soldier, Omri Levy (19) was murdered and about 11 civilians and police officers wounded (one soldier seriously) when a terrorist armed with a knife and a pistol entered the central bus station, shot the soldier, grabbed his gun and started shooting. Police officers shot and killed the terrorist, an Israeli Bedouin (21) from the town of Hura. An Eritrean asylum seeker, Habtom Zerhom (29), was mistaken for a second terrorist and shot by a security guard; he died of his wounds.
     
    17 Oct. Jerusalem (Armon Hanatziv neighborhood): Terrorist (16, from Jabel Mukaber) tried to stab Border Police officers; one of the officers shot and killed him.

    Hebron: Three separate attacks: (1) Palestinian tried to stab a civilian walking back from morning prayers; the civilian shot and killed the terrorist with his personal firearm.

    (2) Palestinian woman (16) stabbed and lightly wounded a female Border Police officer, who shot and killed her.

    (3) Terrorist (18) from Hebron, stabbed and moderately wounded an IDF soldier at Police checkpoint. Second soldier shot and critically wounded the attacker.

    Kalandiya checkpoint (north of Jerualem): Terrorist tried to stab police officer, and was shot in lower body; then tried to stab a bomb squad officer. Another officer shot and killed him.
     
    16 Oct. Hebron (Zayit junction outside Kiryat Arba): Palestinian terrorist disguised as a photojournalist stabbed and moderately wounded an IDF soldier. A second soldier shot and killed him.

    Joseph’s Tomb, Nablus: Hundreds of Palestinian rioters set fire to the tomb, which suffered severe damage. The site is under the control of the PA, which is required by previous agreements to protect it and all Jewish holy sites under its control. Jewish worshippers have limited access to the tomb.
     
     
    14 Oct. Jerusalem: Woman (72) was stabbed and injured while waiting for a bus at the Central Bus Station. The attacker was shot and killed.

    Jerusalem, Damascus Gate in the Old City: Terrorist (19) from Hebron lightly injured two people before being shot and killed by the security forces.

    Jerusalem: Attack foiled by Border Police. Officers who boarded a bus full of passengers discovered a knife hidden under a seat. The owner of the knife had boarded the bus with a young child in his arms to allay suspicion.
     
    13 Oct. Ra’anana (center of country, northeast of Tel Aviv): Two stabbing attacks in the morning, an hour apart: The first at a bus stop in the center of town, in which a man (32) suffered light wounds; the attacker (28, from eastern Jerusalem) was subdued by passers-by and held until the police arrived. The second attack resulted in one seriously wounded and three lightly wounded; the terrorist (a worker at nearby Beit Levinstein rehabilitation hospital) was arrested.

    Jerusalem: Shooting and stabbing attack on a bus in Armon Hanatziv, a southern Jerusalem neighborhood, by two terrorists armed with a gun and a meat cleaver.
    Alon Govberg (51) and Chaim Haviv (78) were killed outright; Richard Laken (76) died of his wounds on 27 October. Chaim’s wife was seriously wounded. Police shot and killed one of the terrorists and apprehended the second (both from Jabel Muqaber in eastern Jerusalem).

    Jerusalem: Ramming-stabbing attack at a bus stop on Malchei Yisrael St in Makor Baruch, not far from the Central Bus Station.
    Rabbi Yeshayahu Krishevsky (59) was killed, several injured. The perpetrator, a resident of Jabel Muqaber in eastern Jerusalem, was an employee of Bezeq, Israel’s main telephone service provider.     12 Oct. Jerusalem: Stabbing attack foiled at Lion’s Gate in Jerusalem’s Old City. Terrorist (18, from eastern Jerusalem) was shot and killed.

    Jerusalem (Ammunition Hill, northern Jerusalem): Border policeman was stabbed and lightly injured by a female terrorist (16). The officer managed to shoot and stop her, and she was evacuated to an Israeli hospital.

    Jerusalem (Pisgat Zeev in northern Jerusalem): Two terrorists (ages 13 and 17 from nearby Beit Hanina)) stabbed and seriously wounded a man (21) and a boy (13) riding his bicycle. Police shot and killed one terrorist and apprehended the second (the 13-year-old). (See

    The two injured boys were taken to different branches of Hadassah Hospital. The attacker was treated by a Jewish doctor and was released on 18 October. The Jewish victim was treated by an Arab doctor and was released on 27 October (the other victim was released earlier in the same week).

    Jerusalem – near bridge at entrance to city, 8:30 pm: Terrorist (22) on bus stabbed a soldier (19) and tried to grab his gun. After a struggle, the terrorist was shot and killed by a police officer.
     
    11 Oct. Maaleh Adumim-Jerusalem highway: Police officer lightly injured when he pulled over a driver acting suspiciously, and the (female) driver set off an explosive device.  Gas canisters were found in the car. The terrorist was seriously wounded.

    Northern Israel, (Gan Shmuel, between Hadera and Afula): Four injured at bus stop in a combined ramming/stabbing attack. Female soldier
    , Orel Azuri (19) critically wounded (was in intensive care, unconscious and on a ventilator, for 13 days while doctors fought for her life; now recovering); a girl (turned 15 that day) moderately; two men (45, 20) lightly. Terrorist first rammed his car into two of the victims, then got out and started stabbing. The terrorist (20, from Umm el Fahm in northern Israel) was apprehended with the help of bystanders.
     
    10 Oct. Jerusalem: (Sabbath morning) Arab (16) stabbed two Jewish men in their 60s near Damascus Gate, leaving them moderately and lightly wounded, respectively. The terrorist then attacked Border Police officers, who shot and killed him.

    Jerusalem (near Damascus Gate): Palestinian (19, from Shuafat) stabbed two police officers. Nearby police shot and killed him, and accidently wounded a third officer. Officers in serious-to-moderate condition.

    (Shmuel HaNavi St.): Bus driver lightly injured by stones thrown at the bus.

    Gush Etzion (south of Jerusalem): Woman (53) lightly injured by broken glass when stones were thrown at her car.
     
    9 Oct. Samaria, northwest of Jerusalem: Five Israelis, three of them children, were lightly injured by rocks thrown at their vehicle.

    Jerusalem
    (Shmuel HaNavi St.): Jewish boy (16) was beaten and stabbed and lightly wounded. Attacker (18, from Hebron in West Bank) was later apprehended by police.

    Kiryat Arba: Terrorist stabbed a police officer (47) and tried to grab his gun. Other officers shot him.
     
    8 Oct. Tel Aviv: Female soldier and three others stabbed. Terrorist was shot and killed.

    Jerusalem: Yeshiva student (25) was seriously injured and another man lightly injured in stabbing attack near the light rail. Terrorist (age 19) arrested.

    Kiryat Arba (Jewish town near Hebron, south of Jerusalem): Man (31) seriously wounded in stabbing attack. Victim evacuated to Jerusalem hospital. Terrorist escaped.

    Afula (town in Galilee): Soldier stabbed by Arab (20, from Jenin in West Bank), who was apprehended by bystanders and held for police. The soldier was taken to hospital in moderate-to-serious condition.
     
    7 Oct.  Petach Tikva: Knife attack at shopping mall wounded one man. The knife broke, preventing further victims. Bystanders apprehended the terrorist (25, from Daharia refugee camp, illegally residing in Israel and working as a hair stylist in Kfar Kassem).

    Gush Etzion, Judea, south of Jerusalem – woman (38), driving from her home in Tekoa, was attacked by Arabs, who threw rocks at her and tried to drag her from her car. Lightly wounded, she succeeded in closing the car door and escaped.

    Jerusalem: Palestinian woman (18) stabbed 36-year-old Jewish man at Lion’s Gate of the Old City. The victim, moderately wounded, shot and wounded the terrorist.

    Kiryat Gat (southeast of Tel Aviv) – terrorist stabbed an IDF soldier and snatched his gun, then ran into a nearby apartment, where a woman was just returning home. She fought with him and managed to flee. The terrorist was killed by police.
     
    4 Oct.  Jerusalem: Moshe Malka (15) was stabbed and wounded (near light rail stop) on his way to prayers at the Western Wall. Terrorist was shot dead by security forces.
     
    3 Oct.  Jerusalem: Two killed in stabbing attack near Lion’s Gate. Aharon Banita-Bennet (22) was stabbed to death on the way to the Western Wall in the Old City on Saturday evening with his wife and two young children. His wife, Adele and two-year-old son were wounded. Rabbi Nehemia Lavi (father of seven), who came to the aid of the Banita-Bennett family, was attacked and stabbed to death. Police shot and killed the attacker.
     
    1 Oct. Near Nablus in Samaria: Rabbi Eitam Henkin (31) and wife Naama (30) murdered in a drive-by shooting while traveling with their four young children (aged 9, 7, 4, and 4 months). Security forces arrested members of Hamas cell responsible.
     
    13 Sept. Jerusalem: rock attack on a car, on Erev Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year), resulted in death of driver, Alexander Levlovitz, in the early hours of 14 September. Four Palestinian youths were arrested.
