The Consulate hosted a University Faculty Forum

    On September 10th, The Consulate General of Israel to the Midwest hosted a University Faculty Forum with special guest speaker Robert J. Zimmer, President and Trustee of The University of Chicago. Approximately, 50 professors and administrators from universities throughout the Chicagoland area participated.
     
    Consul General, Roey Gilad gave opening remarks and then President Zimmer gave an inspirational talk about The University of Chicago’s recent water research initiative collaboration with Ben Gurion University in Israel. President Zimmer provided background on how the collaboration developed, what the goals of the project are, and he answered many questions from attendees. After President Zimer’s presentation, the Consul General moderated a discussion about Israel on campus and potential solutions to the challenges we are expecting on campus this year.  
     
    The event was a great success and the Consulate looks forward to working closely with university faculty and administration during the 2014-2015 academic year.
