General Information:
The Minister of the Interior of the State of Israel is in charge of implementing the laws of the State which specify the conditions for entering Israel (the Law of Return, 5710 - 1950, and the Entry into Israel Law, 5712 - 1952). The power to implement these laws abroad was delegated to the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Official Announcements Gazette 255 of October 16, 1952) and to Israel's representatives abroad (Official Announcements Gazette 2465 of October 7, 1978).
Israel has visa exemption agreements with many countries. Before going to the mission, check whether you need to obtain a visa to visit Israel. It is important to emphasize that the exemption applies only to visas for visits and to passports (not to laissez-passer).

Below are the types of visas and the application process for obtaining them.

Student Visa
In order to issue a student visa to Israel, kindly provide us with the following listed documents
- Please fill out the form.
- Two (2) passport photos (white background 2"X2").
- Documents that indicate you have the financial means to stay in Israel (i.e. Bank statements of the last 3 months, grants, loans, etc.).
- A letter from school ( please make sure that the institute is recognized by The Consulate)
- The flight itinerary (round trip).
- Trip itinerary (lodging locations: hotel reservations etc.)
- For payment methods, please see the "Payment Methods" page. (Paid to: “Consulate General of Israel”). No AMEX. No personal checks.
- The original passport (Valid for at least 1-year).
- If you are MASA eligible: please attach a formal letter directly from MASA itself that proves the program you have been accepted to is part of MASA. (Not from the specific program) - If your program is part of MASA you do not need to pay the visa fee - ONLY THE SHIPPING.
- Proof of medical insurance for the duration of stay in Israel

NOTICE: For Student Visas, you need to schedule an appointment and arrive at the consulate.
For minor Students: (under 18 years old)
- Both parents' consent is necessary, please schedule an appointment.
- Both parents should come to the Consulate with the minor.
- In case one of the parents is unable to come, he/she needs to sign a consent letter. This letter needs to be notarized in front of a notary public certified with an apostille seal (only if he/she will be studying in a known institute. Students with Israeli Parents
You do not need (and are not eligible for) a Student Visa. You must travel using your Israeli passport. If you do not have an Israeli passport, you must obtain one prior to your departure (look at the chapter “Issuing the first passport”)

Work Visa
Work visas can be issued in the consulate but only after approval from the Ministry of Interior in Israel (after being invited by the employer’s company).
In order to print the visa after receiving the approval, kindly provide us with the following listed documents:
- Verified certificate of good conduct/ police record.
- Certification of medical examinations performed in clinics or hospitals recognized by the mission (the certification must cover, inter alia, normal results in tests for tuberculosis, hepatitis, and AIDS) and the results of general blood tests.
- The Israeli Ministry of Interior approval - printed.
- Please fill out the application for entry visa to Israel form.
- Two (2) passport photos (white background 2"X2").
- A letter from your employer in Israel.
- Bank statements of the last 3 months
- The flight itinerary.
- Your original passport

- SHIPPING FORM
*The request must be submitted in advance by the employer to the Ministry of Interior in Israel.
The process takes approximately 14 business days, please do not schedule an appointment over four (4) weeks before the flight to Israel. Applications that will be submitted over four (4) weeks before - will be "on hold".

Tourist Visa
USA citizens do NOT need to apply for a Tourist Visa!
In order to issue a tourist visa to Israel, please provide us the following listed documents:
- Kindly fill out the form.
- Two (2) passport photos (white background 2"X2").
- Documents that indicate you have the financial means to stay in Israel (i.e. Bank statements of the last 3 months, grants, loans, etc.).
- A letter from school/employer in the USA.
- The flight itinerary (round trip).
- Trip itinerary (lodging locations: hotel reservations etc.).
- Proof of legal status in the US (visa, green card, I-20, etc.).
- For payment methods, please see the "Payment Methods" page. (Paid to: “Consulate General of Israel”). No AMEX. No personal checks.
- Your original passport (valid for at least 1-year).
- SHIPPING FORM
- Proof of medical insurance for the duration of stay in Israel
*You need an appointment to receive a tourist visa, schedule an appointment and arrive at the consulate. * The process takes approximately 14 business days and the visa is valid for
3 months from the date it was issued.
Please schedule an appointment over 4 weeks before the flight to Israel.
Please note- the legal status in the US (visa, green card, travel document) has to be valid for at least 6 months from the day you are exiting from Israel.
