    On Monday, 17 November 2014, the new Consulate-General of Israel was officially inaugurated in Chengdu - the fourth mission of Israel in mainland China, following the embassy in Beijing, and consulates in Shanghai and Guangzhou.

    During the ceremony, Vice Governor of Sichuan Mr. Zhong  Mian, Ambassador of Israel to China Matan Vilnai, and the first Consul-General of Israel to Chengdu Amir Lati gave speeches.

    The Consulate-General of Israeli in Chengdu will cover the southwest region of China - the Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan and Guizhou provinces. The new consulate will promote high-tech, trade, agriculture, culture, academic, tourism relations and more, as well as providing consular services to the people of the region.
