(Communicated by the Foreign Minister's Bureau)
Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman stated that yesterday's terror attacks in Copenhagen, at a synagogue and at a discussion on freedom of expression, "demonstrate what we have said for years: Israel and the Jewish people have been victims of this terror primarily because they are at the forefront of the terror war being waged against the west and the entire free world."
FM Liberman noted that "the international community must not satisfy itself with declarations and rallies against this terror, but must go beyond the boundaries of what is politically correct and wage all-out war to root out Islamic terror."
He noted that the Israel Foreign Ministry is in constant contact with its embassy in Denmark, and is closely following the events.
FM Liberman speaks with Danish counterpart
FM Liberman spoke with Danish Foreign Minister Martin Lidegaard and expressed Israel’s condolences for the terror attack that took place in Copenhagen. FM Liberman told his counterpart that the people of Israel, who are well acquainted with the difficult struggle against terror, stand iמ support of the Danish people at this difficult time.
FM Liberman told FM Lidegaard that Israel appreciates Denmark’s cooperation in maintaining the security of Israelis and Jews in Denmark, and added that Israel is ready for any cooperation required on this issue and will continue to strengthen the cooperation between the two countries.
