On Monday May 14th, Israel celebrated it's 64th Independance Day at the Rijswijkse Schouburg. A well-visited a dashing concert of the famous Israeli vocal group and band 'Hakol over Habibi' (approximate translation: this too shall pass, friend) was followed by a reception featuring lovely Israeli food.

'Habibi' was formed in the seventies and has been to the Netherlands several times. Lead singer Shlomit Aharoni told the Jerusalem Post that they do feel they represent something all-Israeli, and that they are being perceived by the crowb as such.

On Sunday May 13th, Israel also celebrated it's independence, this time by holding the first national day of the Floriade 2012 in Venlo, located in the South of the Netherlands. A delegation had a full day at the horticultural park, enjoying the two Israeli pavillions as well as the other pavillions and gardens. Habibi also performed several timesat the main stage of the Floriade.
