Political Department
The political department monitors and analyses major Dutch political developments and the general Dutch view on a broad range of Israeli policies and topics of interest. For this purpose, the department, headed by Deputy Chief of Mission Gideon Lustig, is in regular contact with Dutch government ministries, members of Parliament and leading political figures in the Netherlands. We promote Israeli interests by advocating Israeli policy and explain Israel’s positions.
Furthermore, the department promotes bilateral issues in various sectors, such as economy, infrastructure and development aid. This includes enhancing official Dutch and Israeli visits and forums.
