    ​​The ministerial committee has decided to continue the lockdown until midnight Wednesday, 21 October 2020, in several cities that remain red in order to make additional efforts to lower morbidity and thereby remove them from the list of red cities.

    The ministerial committee on restricted areas, yesterday afternoon (Friday, 16 October 2020), unanimously approved the proposal of the Health Ministry and the national coronavirus project manager to declare red cities as restricted zones according to the "Law on Special Authority to Deal with the Coronavirus (Emergency Ordinance) 2020."The declaration is valid for four days, 18-21 October 2020.
     
    The members of the committee expressed appreciation for the work of the mayors and residents of the red cities in adhering to the directives and considerably lowering morbidity in many red cities. In several red cities, morbidity remains high relative to national morbidity, despite ongoing efforts to lower morbidity.
     
    Therefore, the ministerial committee has decided to continue the lockdown until midnight Wednesday, 21 October 2020, in several cities that remain red in order to make additional efforts to lower morbidity and thereby remove them from the list of red cities.
     
    According to the recommendation of the Health Ministry, the ministerial committee has decided to allow education for ages 0-6 to reopen in red cities as well.
     
    A ministerial team led by Finance Minister Yisrael Katz will convene this evening (Saturday, 17 October 2020), in order to anchor regulations that protect workers from dismissal; the team will also evaluate additional assistance to these communities by IDF Home Front Command and the Interior Minister.
     
    The areas to be declared restricted zones:
     
    1. The municipal area of Bnei Brak south of Jabotinsky Street
     
    2. The municipal areas of Rechasim
     
    3. The municipal area of Elad
     
    4. The Jerusalem neighborhood of Ramat Shlomo
     
    5. The Jerusalem neighborhoods of Ramat Eshkol and Maalot Dafna
     
    6. The Jerusalem neighborhood of Mattersdorf
     
    7. The municipal area of Beitar Ilit (except for industrial zones)
     
    8. The municipal area of Modi'in Ilit (except for industrial zones)
     
    Entry to and exit from the restricted zones will be allowed for special education pupils, youth at risk and those education and social welfare Institutions activity at which has been permitted.
     
    IDF Home Front Command has formulated an operative assistance plan for the ill, for residents and to lower morbidity, in authorities that have been declared restricted zones.
