The Jerusalem Press Club (JPC), a new initiative designed to provide a host of services to foreign correspondents in Israel, officially joined the Federation of thr European Press Clubs this week. The agreement was signed by the head of the JPC, veteran journalist Uri Dromi, as part of the conference of European Press Clubs held in Brussels between 18-19 April. The Brussels Press Club currently holds the rotating presidency of the Federation of the European Press Clubs, which includes 14 press clubs from around Europe including Marseille, Barcelona, Kiev and the Hague.
According to Uri Dromi, the Jerusalem Press Club will be the first of its kind in Israel, providing a unique hub located in the heart of Jerusalem, where journalists and professionals can gather to network and meet with Israeli officials and members of civil society, as well as economic leaders and cultural trend-setters.
The Jerusalem Press Club will be fully operational in June of 2013.
