Minister of Foreign Affairs Gabi Ashkenazi and Kosovan Foreign Minister Meliza Haradinaj Stublla held their first telephone conversation today (Thursday, 1 October). During the conversation, they discussed the establishment of diplomatic relations between Israel and Kosovo, and agreed that Kosovo will send a delegation to Israel, the first of its kind, that will set the process in motion.
Minister Ashkenazi thanked the Kosovan Minister for her intention to open an embassy in Jerusalem, and for the important decision to recognize Hezbollah, including all of its wings, as a terrorist organization. The Foreign Minister expressed his personal appreciation to the Minister for leading the process of Kosovo's adoption of the IHRA definition of antisemitism.
During the course of the meeting, the ministers discussed opportunities for expanding economic cooperation between the countries, as well as the new reality in the Middle East following the Abraham Accords.
