    The Bahraini Undersecretary for Political Affairs, Sheikh Abdulla bin Ahmed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, arrived today (Sunday, August 8, 2021) on a four-day working visit to Israel. Sheikh Abdallah is responsible for relations with Israel at the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and this is his third visit to Israel. (His first visit took place in December 2020, when he accompanied the Bahraini Minister of Foreign Affairs.) 

    During his visit, Sheikh Abdallah is expected to meet with President Isaac Herzog and Minister of Foreign Affairs Yair Lapid. 

    MFA Director-General Alon Ushpiz and Undersecretary for Political Affairs Sheikh Abdulla will chair the high steering committee on Israel-Bahrain bilateral relations that will convene during the visit. The committee will convene in preparation of a future meeting between the Israeli and Bahraini foreign ministers.  

    During the visit, the undersecretary will meet with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Cadets Course to discuss Israel-Bahrain relations. He will also visit Israeli civil society organizations, universities and think tanks with the aim of strengthening ties between Israel and Bahrain.
