As night falls on May 08, 2019, the traditional firework show was the starting point of the celebration, it officially announced the beginning of Israel’s 71th birthday and Independence Day.
Residents and tourists of the city that never sleeps, enjoyed student Rave parties at Tel Aviv University, a concert of Bosnian-German Dj Solomun in the parc Hayarkon, rooftop parties and the popular event held on Rabin Square.
In Jerusalem, the annual torch lighting ceremony on Mount Herzl was celebrated along with other events such as street parties, DJ performances on Zion square, the festivities continued with the Nocturo live, keeping up its annual tradition of a crazy all-night Independence Day party!
After a night of fireworks, concerts and parties all over the country, Israelis were ready on Thursday May 09 to celebrate.
Thousands  of Israelis rushed to beaches and parks to have their traditional  National day barbecue, waving blue and white flags and twisting their necks up to look at the aerial display celebrating the 71th birthday of the Independence of Israel.
In Jerusalem, the festivities started on Thursday morning at the residency of President Reuven Rivlin, who welcomed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Chief of General staff Aviv Kohavi and other distinguished guests for an official ceremony.
Yom Haatzmaut, the Hebrew name for Independence Day in Israel is an opportunity for the citizens to enjoy the beauty and wonders of their home country. Almost 200 000 Israelis visited national parks and natural reserves, according to Israel Nature and Parks Authority.
This year, like every year, Independence Day started right after Yom Hazikaron, Israel official remembrance Day commemorating the fallen Soldiers and the victims of terrorism, from tears to celebration.
The transition between the two days is a key experience for Israelis, in order to ensure that the commemoration of the accomplishment of their country will not occult the ultimo sacrifice of the fallen soldiers, their families and the victims of terror. The joy of having a state came at a price that must not be forgotten even on the happiest moments.
Israel will continue to commemorate the losses and to celebrate life.  Happy birthday Israel, here’s to many more years of achievements and success.
