The National Geographic ranked the 20 most epic trails in the world. Keeping “an eye on more than a footpath” the popular magazine rated walks that travel beyond the trail itself – into the history and culture of its location. They were looking for trails that tell a rich story, “the holy grails of trails across the world”.
We fully agree that the Israel National Trail fulfills these criteria and were delighted to find it on the second best spot in the ranking: “Passing through vast empty desert and winding into kibbutzim, the Israel National Trail (INT) delves into the grand scale of biblical landscapes as well as the everyday lives of modern Israelis (with opportunities to stop in the cities of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem).
