Communeteer Software,
based in Tel Aviv, has developed a Volunteer Management Service that is
changing the way Volunteers are being managed in organizations. The Founders
Liat Chin and Erica Narcyz believe that volunteers are a precious resource that
organizations should nurture and cultivate over time, and have developed a
unique software that translates this statement into a set of actions. Liat who
initiated the social entrepreneurship identified a need amongst corporates and
NGOs in their ability to manage volunteers and maintain them over the long term.
“Many organizations struggle to keep volunteers engaged in their volunteering,
which can lead to high volunteer turnover and a cycle of investing resources in
new volunteer recruitment,” says Liat. Having researched several organizations,
she came across this phenomenon time and again and this brought her to decide
to develop a solution to this problem.
Whether you are a Corporation with Volunteering as part of
your Corporate Social Responsibility Program, or a Non-profit that has
Volunteers that carry out your mission, Communeteer can take your volunteer
management to the next level with an infrastructure to support daily management
activities. Basically, Communeteer can
be used by any organization that manages volunteers - non-profits, corporates,
communities and educational institutions.
Commune
teer is a cloud-based solution, meaning that it is
available all the time, and there is no need to download the program, but
rather simply to enter login information and access the service on mobile or
desktops. Communeteer was developed with
volunteers and volunteer managers in mind - the system is easy to use and
intuitive, and is designed to save volunteer managers hours of administrative
work every week. Most volunteer programs
today are being run using a combination of tools such as email, excel and
messaging such as Whatsapp. Without a one-stop-shop it is almost impossible to
preserve organizational data and be able to use and manage all the information
efficiently. Communeteer brings a solution that combines these needs as well as
preserves the data and makes it easy to manage and maintain.
The solution is unique in its approach – placing the volunteer’s needs in the center.
“Each one of us operates and initiates activities differently but what we have
in common is the need to belong, seek meaning and appreciation”. Having said
that, the software provides each volunteer their own social ID and documents
their S O C I A L J O U R N E Y - a
collection of special moments – photos, videos and interactions with fellow
volunteers, volunteer leaders and beneficiaries. This collection of precious moments, the
meaning they find in their volunteering, the appreciation shown to them
empowers each volunteer.
To support the need to belong, Communeteer has introduced
online communities. In this online space volunteers are encouraged to share
information and experiences with each other, building volunteer solidarity and
commitment to volunteering projects.
They can chat, ask questions, get feedback, organize volunteering and
help and support each other in their volunteering.
The
easy to use software combined with set of algorithms
enables interaction using Gamification models. In addition, the Communeteer
platform follows volunteer participation and volunteers are recognized for
their progress and dedication. Communeteer provides the framework for all
volunteers to become active participants, support fellow volunteers, progress
to successive volunteering levels, receive the recognition they deserve, and
thereby become empowered to drive the greatest social impact.
Volunteer leaders and organizational management enjoy the
benefits of a service that keeps them in touch with what’s going on in the
field. Updates, experiences and data are
entered by the volunteers themselves, bringing volunteer leaders’ attention to
any issues that need to be attended to.
As volunteers update the system as they volunteer, the volunteer leaders
get information that is timely and relevant.
On the next level up in the organization, management gets a
complete picture of all their volunteer activities. No longer is the information gathered
manually or by word of mouth, rather analytics collaborate and display the information
for management to see. Volunteer activities are benchmarked, measured, and
analyzed demonstrating the organization's positive impact on communities.
Intel Israel and Big Brother, two of our customers have the
following to say about Communeteer
Revital Bitan, Corporate Social Responsbility Manager, Intel
Israel says, “As part of our cooperation with the 8200 non-profit, Intel was
happy to try out this innovative platform, unique to Israel at a world class
level that harnesses innovative technology to manage and measure community
involvement, collection of quantitative and qualitative measurements from
volunteers in order to improve their social involvement, retain and empower
volunteers.”
Dorit Weschler, of Big Brother, an NGO in Israel who are
using the Communeteer platform in its branches across the country, says, “The
Communeteer platform has enthused and motivated our team and volunteers and
opened them up to a new world of communication. Incentives and group sharing
encourage the volunteers to report and the platform provides the option to
receive regular reports on developments on the ground. The system is convenient
and accessible and tailored exactly to our needs. We all benefit from the
service, and of course the real winners are obviously the children to whom we
are able to give better
service.”
In conclusion, Communeteer provides value to both the
volunteer and volunteer leader providing a cycle of incentives to use the
software as a tool to maximize the organization’s social impact.
