2nd Diplomatic Race takes place in Jerusalem

  •
A typical gathering of diplomats usually involves suits and a rather formal setting - except for the annual Diplomatic Race in Jerusalem. Several hundred foreign diplomats serving in Israel, foreign journalists and members of the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs swapped their business attire for running clothes for the Diplomatic Race’s 2nd edition on November 5th.

A typical gathering of diplomats usually involves suits and a rather formal setting. This is not the case for the annual Diplomatic Race in Jerusalem.

Several hundred foreign diplomats serving in Israel, foreign journalists and members of the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs swapped their business attire for running shoes & trainers and took part in the Diplomatic Race’s 2nd edition on November 5th, 2017.

Participants were able to enjoy Jerusalem’s beautiful and unique scenery at their own pace via two different routes: a 10 km route for ambitious runners and a 3 km route for more laid-back walkers. This joint initiative of Israel's Foreign Ministry and Jerusalem municipality's division of sports provides a different, innovative way of conducting diplomacy. We hope to see you there next year!
