Mailing to the Consulate
The Consulate General of Israel in San Francisco serves:
Alaska, Northern California (Districts 1-21), Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington only.

Before sending mail to the Consulate, here are a few things to keep in mind:
1. Mail for the Consular Department must be addressed as follows:

2. We recommend sending applications via express registered mail services that provide tracking numbers, such as FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc. If you have sent a document to the Consulate, please do not contact us to confirm that it has arrived. Please check the tracking number instead.
3. The sender is responsible for material mailed to the Consulate.
4. Applications must be fully completed and signed. Be advised, certain services processed via mail require the applicant to sign and/or be identified in front of a notary and certified with an official Apostille seal.
5. Make sure the following information about the applicant is attached to every application: Full name, passport number and/or Israeli ID (all nine digits), and updated contact information (telephone and street address within the US) for return mail.
6. The Consulate does not send mail to P.O Boxes.
The following services require attending the Consulate:
- First passport (regardless of age)
- Issuing, renewing, or extending a passport for a minor (under 18 years of age)
- Replacing a stolen, lost, or destroyed passport
- Notification of birth of an Israeli citizen abroad
- Notification of change in marital status
- Notification of selection/change of name
- Declaration of renunciation of Israeli citizenship
- Notification/change of mailing address
- Notary services (please note that the Consulate does not provide translation services)
- Personal hearing
Please regard the following security procedures:
1. please bring government-issued photo ID such as a passport or driver license.
- Every visitor and his/her belongings will be required to undergo a security check prior to entering the Consulate.
- Electronic equipment is not allowed into the Consulate, including, laptops, tablets, E-readers (Kindle, etc.), and audio & video recorders. Visitors arriving with personal bags or electronic items may be denied entry.
3. Please avoid bringing large handbags, backpacks, or suitcases. Books or newspapers are allowed.
4. Weapons, including those designed for self-defense, are strictly forbidden (pepper spray, TASER, Swiss army knife, etc.)
5. Food, beverage bottles or containers are not allowed into the Consulate.
6. When arriving at the Consulate building, please check in at the security desk to the left of the escalators.
7. Once you arrive at the 21st floor, please take a seat. There is no need to press the call button. A consular representative will be with you shortly.
The Consulate’s security directives apply to all visitors. The instructions of the security staff must be obeyed at all times.
