A task force of highly trained, fully equipped Israeli firefighters was deployed to the State of California on August 30. Their mission, which was initiated by the Consulate General on behalf of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs by submitting an offer of assistance, was then accepted by the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services and the California Department of Forestry and Fire Prevention. Within 48 hours of submitting the mutual aid offer, the Government of Israel mobilized this task force for immediate deployment. The task force was deployed for about two weeks assisting CalFire in combating the LNU Lightning Complex Fire this September.
