    Relations between Israel and Europe
     
    Relations between Israel and the European countries are based on similarities in their political systems and their shared social values, as much as on the long and at times tragic history of the Jewish people in Europe.
     
    Each bilateral relation is reflected in a wide variety of economic, cultural, scientific, technological and political activities. Besides this, regular contact is maintained with heads of state, ministers, members of parliament and public figures, through frequent visits from both sides.
