    Myanmar Youths going to ASC 2012 in Israel
     
    A group of 6 young students led by Daw Mya San Wai, associate professor, Department of Technical and Vocational Education, Ministry of Science and Technology and U Thura, Executive Director from Myanmar Credent Technology has left Myanmar on 25th of August 2012 to participate in Asian Science Camp 2012 which is going to be held in Israel from 26th to 31st August 2012. On 6th of August 2012, they had a meeting with the Ambassador of Israel, H.E. Mr. Yaron Mayer and a group of media people at Myanmar Engineering Society. U Win Khaing, President, Myanmar Engineering Society also attended the meeting as an honor guest.
     
    The ASC 2012 will take place in Israel from August 26 until 31, 2012. Bright, English-proficient senior high school, and freshmen and sophomore college or university students between the age of 18 to 21 will join the camp. The students will be exposed to scientific lectures given by Nobel Laureates and world Class scientists as well as discussions supplemented by cultural and social activities at the marvelous Edmond J. Safra Campus of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
     
    The idea of the Asian Science Camp (ASC) was co-Proposed in September 2005 after the 55th Annual Meeting of Nobel Laureates and Students in Lindau, Germany, by Professor Yuan Tseh Lee (1986 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry) from Chinese Taipei, and Professor Masatoshi Koshiba (2002 Nobel Laureate in Phyisics) from Japan. The proposal expressed the aim to enlighten science talented youths through discussions and dialogues with top scholars in the world, and promote international friendship and cooperation among young students of the next generation in Asia.
     
    Previous ASCs took place in Taiwan(2007), Bali,(2008),Japan(2009),India(2010), and Korea (2011). 225 participants and 32 supervisors will be joining this year ASC camp in Israel.
     
    ASC Students from Myanmar include students from Yangon Technological University, Mandalay University of Computer Studies, Chindwin College (Yangon & Mandalay) and PS Business Academy.
