I was offered MASHAV scholarship from Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Israel to study in Aquaculture Production and Management Course from 10th March to 3rd April, 2014 at the Hebrew University at Rehovot. It is first time for me to visit and study in Israel and I was favored to learn existing status of aquaculture in terms of fish farming practices, advance aquaculture technology in Israel and some technology are able to adopt in my country that I already applied at fish farms in Myanmar. Professionals from many countries in Asia, Europe and Africa attended this course and we also visited a hatchery and fish farms at Gan Shmuel, Kibutz where is not too far from the border area of Lebanon and Syria. Each participant practiced induced breeding of common carp at the hatchery.
We also visited, Jerusalem, West Bank, Jordan river, Masada and Haifa which is the biggest sea port in Israel. Israel is a beautiful country and people are friendly. During I was in Israel, I talked with many Israelis and realized that Israelis can talk with jokes and it is very distinguished compare with other people in different countries. Behalf of Myanmar Fisheries Federation (MFF) in Myanmar, I wish to sincerely express many thanks and appreciations to MASHAV program which selected me to attend Aquaculture Production and Management Course and staff who were involved in organizing the course and people from Israel.
