The Israel trip was really exciting. I arrived to Israel on 29 June 2016. Ms, Hila, Course Director, MCTC welcomed to the participants and arranged the rooms at MASHAV.

MASHAV was established since 1961 by Ms. Golda Meir, the former Prime Minister, and provides international courses and seminars, regional workshops, on-the-spot course, biennial international conferences for women and tailor-made programs for individuals and small groups of professionals. On 30 June the program was started by opening ceremony; met with the staff of the center and Dr. Judith Shamian FAAN President, International Councils of Nurse and participants from the parallel international course.

As of 2013, Israel health system ranked fourth in the world in terms of efficiency in a survey of 48 countries. The health system is mainly implementing on primary health care; health promotion and prevention. Government and 4 Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) are providing the curative care.  Total 900 Maternal and Child Health clinics work for health promotion and prevention of mother and child till the age of 6 years.

During this course, new knowledge on COPC Model (community oriented primary care), PPD (Post-Partum Depression), art therapy and emergency preparedness for chemical, biological war were advantage. The most interesting events were study visits to maternal and child health clinics in Um El Fahem and Negev, Rambam hospital, and Ministry of Health. Not only lectures and study visits, there was MCTC Seminar Day of Digital Bridges for Development on 7 June in the presence of Guest of Honor: H.E. Ellen Johnson Srileaf, President of Liberia and H.E. Ambassador Mr. Gil Haskel, Head of MASHAV, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Israel.

Myanmar and Israel have similar challenges in health care system such as poverty in rural area, nutrition problem in mother and children, and health inequality, but Israel has very less maternal and child mortality and health care effectiveness is high ranking among rich countries. Another area of success is breastfeeding promotion program. Reasons of successful breastfeeding are due to restriction of free samples, discount or gifts from production companies and support women for breastfeeding in workplaces (breastfeeding hour, pumping time).

The lessons learnt from the success of Israel are structure of the health system, strong policies, main investment in primary health care, qualified health care providers, and adequate number of health care providers in the health system.
Israelis are straight forward, honest and discipline. The town is a mountainous city and very attractive with beautiful beach. I had a chance to visit Jerusalem which is very famous ancient religious city.  My Israel trip is full of new experiences in Israel health care model, their culture and religions.
