Mr. Chen Jinhu welcomed Mr. Edward Shapira, who visited Changzhou for the first time, and briefed him on the economic and social development of Changzhou in recent years. He said that the establishment of the China-Israel Changzhou Innovation Park received several governmental supports from two countries. Changzhou was an industrial city with a complete industrial system, but it still faced opportunities and challenges for transformation and development. Israel was a leading innovative country. He hoped that through the platform of the China-Israel Changzhou Innovation Park, with the help of Israeli innovative technologies,it could enhance Changzhou’s traditional industries and cultivate emerging industries, especially in bio-medicine, smart manufacturing, and new materials.
Edward Shapira, the Consul General of Israel in Shanghai, said that the China-Israel Changzhou Innovation Park was the first park jointly built by China and Israel ,and one of the most important cooperation projects. He hoped that Changzhou could further create a good environment for innovation and entrepreneurship, accelerate the formation of an incentive mechanism. This new mechanism could encourage innovation, attract more Israeli high-tech and talents to Changzhou for cooperation, and promote the China-Israel Changzhou Innovation Park to a new level of development. He would share the park's successful experience with Israelis, and encourage more Israeli companies to invest in the park.
China-Israel Changzhou Innovation Park focuses on the development of "striving to be the leader of China-Israel innovation cooperation". After more than 5 years of development, it has achieved remarkable results. At present, the park has gathered 102 wholly-owned Israeli and Sino-Israeli cooperative enterprises, promoted 26 China-Israel scientific and technological cooperation projects, and established a number of characteristic innovation platforms such as Jiangsu China-Israel Industrial Technology Research Institute, Israel Jiangsu Innovation Center, and China-Israel Innovation Center.
Mr. Edward Shapira also attended the opening of 2020 China-Israel Innovation Investment and Industrial Cooperation Conference and delivered a speech.
