GovXContentSection
Soon after arriving in the Bay Area, the new Consul General of Israel to the Pacific Northwest met the legendary Indian Muslim percussionist, Zakir Hussain. Hussain, born in Bombay, is the youngest percussionist to receive civilian honours from the government of India, and has been an instrumental figure in the development of modern world music. He was playing concerts in the Bay Area, as well as teaching masterclasses to advanced tabla students in San Francisco. Consul General David is meeting cultural leaders of all faiths and ethnicities from the diverse Bay Area, as well as those who flock to this special part of the world.
