Around 2000 community members came out to enjoy the warm Californian sunshine on Sunday, as they celebrated Israel’s 65th year of independence at Sacramento’s Jewish Heritage Festival.
The annual event is one of Sacramento’s biggest street parties, and revelers were treated to music by Sol Tevél, Lucy’s Bones, Rio Americano High School Jazz Band members, and the Sacramento Israeli Dance Group.

The Festival was supported by Senator Darrell Steinberg and Councilmember Steve Cohn. Israel’s Consul General Andy David also spoke at the festival, held along Capitol Avenue, which included activity booths, dancing in the streets, displays about Israel’s past and present history and its contributions to the world, Mediterranean fare and plenty of fun!
