Amongst this year’s events featuring Israeli Olympians, here are a few you should be sure not to miss:
Water Sports
Windsurfer Shahar Tzuberi, winner of the bronze medal in the 2008 games, is the current world champion of the sport. Tzuberi may have the chance of brining Israel its second Olympic gold medal in history. First race-July 31 12p.m.
Lee Korzits, who won the 2011 and 2012 windsurfing championships, may before the first Israeli woman to win a medal since 1992- July 31st 12p.m.
Sailing duo, Gideon Kliger and Eran Sela, won the silver medal in the 2012 World cup and will and hope to bring home a medal during the games- August 2nd 12p.m.
Judo
Arik Zeevi, a four-time European champion and winner of an Olympic bronze medal in 2004, will be competing in this year’s games. First round- August 2nd, starting at 9:30am
Alice Schlesinger, She is currently the winner of the silver medal in Germany’s Grand-prix this year and will be competing in this year’s games- First round- July 31, starting at 9:30am
Gymnastics
Alex Shatilov, In 2008, he was the first Israeli to ever reach an Olympic final in gymnastics. He will be competing in artistic gymnastics
Israel’s rhythmic gymnastics team, composed of six-women, won the bronze medal in the 2011 World Championships in France. This may be there chance to take home an Olympic medal- August 2nd 2:45p.m.
