Israel's 74th Independence Day

  •

The State of Israel joyously celebrated its 74th Independence Day this week! Celebrations across the Pacific Northwest took place in Portland, Seattle, and of course the Consulate's home of San Francisco. The day included the raising of the Israeli flag over Mayor London Breed's balcony at City Hall, the Mayor's proclamation of May 4th as "Israeli-American Friendship and Heritage Day," and a special Independence Day celebration across the street from City Hall at the War Memorial.

You might have also noticed that some of San Francisco's most beautiful buildings were covered in a brilliant shade of Israeli blue and white on May 4th. This year, the dome at Golden Gate Park was added to City Hall and Coit Tower as pieces of San Francisco's spectacular architecture to shine in Israel's colors each year.
