A Cross-Atlantic Virtual Women Duet by Iris Erez and Marjani Forté-Saunders

An original duet between Israeli choreographer/performer Iris Erez
and California-based choreographer/performer Marjani Forté-Saunders.
This is a work-in-progress, lasting 15-20 minutes.
A conversation between the two artists will follow the video performance.
Iris Erez is a prize-winning Israeli choreographer/performer and teacher, based in Jerusalem.
She was the guest artist professor in the Reed College/Portland, OR Dance Department in Spring 2017.
Marjani Forté-Saunders, based in California, is a choreographer, performer, educator, community organizer, and mother. She has been awarded residencies at Bard College, Baryshnikov Arts Center, Petronio Residency Center and The Yard. She toured with Urban Bush Women for five years.
Immediately following the video will be a
conversation with the two artists, led by Gabri Christa, Associate Professor of
Professional Practice, Barnard College Dance Department, Columbia University. The conversation will
focus on the unique and fascinating creation process of the new work as well as
the artists’ individual choreographic backgrounds in Israel and the United
States.
