On November 22, the Consulate General of Israel in conjunction with the JCC Los Gatos hosted a discussion with the legendary Israeli author, Etgar Keret. The Sapir Prize winning author discussed his latest book, Fly Already, his success outside of Israel, and his success outside of Israel. Keret is known for his absurd, sad, funny, very short stories, as well as graphic novels and screenwriting. His previous books include “Suddenly, a Knock at the Door,” “The Seven Good Years,” “The Bus Driver Who Wanted to Be God,” and many more. Keret is known for creating searing, and hilarious stories. In his most recent book, his characters grapple with war and games, marijuana and cake, memory and love. His stories sometimes lend themselves to unexpected places, but always move the heart.
