    Notary Services
    In the consular department, you can receive notary services if you are an Israeli citizen, or if you are a foreign citizen preparing documents to be used in Israel, only.
    In the consular department you can complete the following notary services:
    -          Notarized affidavits and power of attorney.
    -          Certificate of Life.
    -          True copies.
    Notary process:
    1.    All notary services require arriving in person at the consular department.
    2.    You must arrive with the original documents that require a signature, and a valid ID (as described below in “Please Note: point 4”).
    3.    All particulars in the document must be filled out prior to arrival. Do not sign the document, you must sign the document with a Consul present.

    -          There’s no payment required for a certificate of life for Bituach Leumi or the Ministry of Defense.
     
    Please note:
    1.    The consular department will only approve the signature. There for, the consular department will not address or change the content of the document, edit, forward, change particulars, etc. The signatory must know the document thoroughly and the consequences of signing, where to sign, and where to send the document after it has been notarized.
    2.    The signatory must be well versed in all elements of the document, and must be able to read the document himself without any external assistance. If the signatory is not well versed, please contact the department via e-mail or phone to receive instructions on how to translate the document. The document must be translated by an official translator.

    4.    The signatory must arrive with either a passport, an ID (local or Israeli) or any other public document with the signatory’s picture. If the notarized document is regarding property deals, this service can be done only with an ID or passport.
    5.    Important note - the Embassy does not translate documents.
