    Adults (over 18) can submit a passport renewal request by mail. 

     

    Minors (under 18) are requested to send an email to the Consular Department with the parents' and minors' ID numbers. Click here to send an email to the Consular Department.

     

    Please note: Requests received by mail will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. If additional documents are required or if a visit to the consulate is necessary, the request will be returned to the applicant with detailed instructions.​​

     
     General
     
    This service is intended for registered Israeli citizens with an Israeli ID number only.​

    •  An appointment must be scheduled and attended in the following cases:
      • The request is for a minor citizen.
      • The applicant has not visited Israel for over ten years.
      • The request is for the first passport/first travel document of the applicant.
      • The request is for a passport/travel document after the loss/damage/theft of the previous document.
      • The request is for the first passport/first travel document of the applicant as an adult (above the age of 18).​​​​

    In all of the above cases, an appointment must be scheduled with a representative. Click here to schedule an appointment.
    • Renewal or extension of a minor's passport requires an appointment with a representative, accompanied by the minor's parents.
      • If the parents of the minor are Israeli and married, one parent can attend.
      • If the parents of the minor are divorced, both parents must attend.
      • If the parents of the minor are unmarried, both parents must attend.
      • If the parents of the minor are married but only one of them is Israeli, the Israeli parent must attend.​​​​

    • A citizen who is 16 years and 4 months old and has not yet arranged his military status is requested to fill out the Military Status Arrangement form. To download, click here.

    • A citizen who made Aliyah to Israel and did not settle in the country is entitled to an Israeli Travel Document instead of a national passport. For additional information, you can refer to the Israeli Passports Law by clicking here.

    • Application for a biometric passport can be submitted in Israel only.

    • The processing time for the application takes approximately six weeks from the day the application is opened at the consular department.

    • The expiration date of a passport can be up to five years. The consular officer will determine the new passport's expiration date based on the citizen's eligibility.​
     
     
     Required Documentation
     
    • ​Current Israeli travel document (passport/laissez-passer).
    • Two recent passport photos with a white background, sized 2x2 inches. Ensure that the photos are clear, not blurred, and without shadows. Keep your face straight and visible.
    • A completed and signed application form. Download it here. (This form is use​​d for renewal and extension).
    • A registered mail envelope with a tracking number, prepaid, and addressed to the desired passport delivery location. If you wish to pick up the passport from the consulate once it's ready, please state it on the application. 
    • Credit card details for payment. Download the form here. Alternatively, a money order for the exact amount can be sent. If the amount on the money order is incorrect, the applicant will be asked to provide credit card details for charging, and the check will be returned unused.
    • A citizen whose passport was issued more than ten years ago must include a copy of a current identification card (a State ID or a foreign passport is accepted in the absence of an updated Israeli identification document).
    • In the case of a passport renewal after loss/theft, include an updated identification document (Israeli or local), and a declaration for a lost/stolen passport, Click here to download the form.
