The Israeli Consulate hosted this week a film -“Brave Miss World” & discussion,
A remarkable testimony of Miss Israel Linor Abargil who was abducted, stabbed and raped in Milan, Italy, at age 18.
But this evening was not only about Miss World, it was about preventing sexual abuse, offering support to survivors and empowering women all over the world.
This evening was a collaboration with the City of Chicago, Crisis Centers and survivors.
It brought the Chicago angle.
600 men and women gathered at the Music Box Theater Tuesday night (June 24) to show support.
The film was followed by a panel with -

· Debra Little- a survivor,
· Christine Evans- CAASE
· Anee Pezzillo- YWCA
· With a special guest – Lisa Madigan – Attorney General of Illinois.
Subjects were discussed
The Services Chicago can offer to the victims, the special challenges at the colleges, the legal aspects, the family/friends support to the victims etc.

“I attended many events dealing with Rape – but I never saw such a turnout and support”
