A native of Israel, singer-songwriter Mika Hary started playing the piano at the age 6, and has since impressed her peers and fans alike with her flowing musicality. Mika has performed extensively through Israel and around New York City. As part of her mandatory military service, Mika was chosen as a lead singer in the IDF orchestra where she performed for foreign dignitaries and received a special “outstanding musician” status from the Israeli Ministry of Education. Upon release from the army, Mika participated in the Israeli version of “American Idol” where she placed in the top 12 contestants.
In fall 2007 Mika has moved to NYC after receiving a scholarship to study at the renowned New School.

While being a full  time doubl  degree student (BA/BFA in Music and Philosophy), Mika has   managed to form the 'Mika Hary Group' with which she performed her original compositions in  some of the city's best known venues and playing with some of the rising stars in the music scene, creating quite a reputation for herself, and sweeping hearts of fans wherever she went.  Mika has already performed at Rose Theater (Jazz at Lincoln Center), City Winery, Cornelia   Street Café, Rockwood Music Hall and  the Bern Jazz festival (Switzerland). The Mika Hary Group, featuring the hottest young names in jazz today (Nir Felder, Shai Maestro, Ziv Ravitz,  Sam Minaie, Gilad Hekselman, and more), has finished working on their debut album which was produced by well known drummer/producer Nate Wood (Kneebody, Tigran Hamasyan and more), and it will be released in 2015.

Upon graduating with honors from the New School in NYC, Mika has collaborated and toured the US with Yoni Rechter, an all-time favorite Israeli composer, who has helped shaping the face of Israeli music in the last few decades. While on tour with Recther, Mika started a collaboration with flutist, composer and arranger extraordinaire Hadar Noiberg, and together they created a new acoustic sounding project, which shows a more fragile, intimate sound of Mika's voice and music, this time featuring her both singing and playing the piano. Noiberg's virtuoso flute and Hary's rich voice soar up together and sweep their listeners with them.
The project was recently debuted at the prestigious Tel Aviv Piano Festival to a sold out house. It features songs from Mika's upcoming album, as well as covers to some of Israel and the world's most influential songwriters, such as Joni Mitchell, Matti Caspi and more.
