The spouse of the Israeli Ambassador Yahel Margovsky was honored to meet with the First Lady of Kenya Rachel Ruto at the State House in Nairobi. The two have agreed on two major areas of cooperation through the "Mama Doing Good".

The first project will be the planting of "Zion Forest," consisting of 5000 trees in one of the ASAL areas to mark 75 years of Israel Independence & 60 years of the cordial diplomatic relations between Israel - Kenya.

"Zion Forest" creation would be in line with the National Tree Growing Restoration Campaign of Kenya and the target to plant 500 million trees by 2032 set by the First Lady of Kenya. Rachel Ruto welcomed the initiative of 'Zion Forest' creation as a grand idea, and expressed her consent to launch the project.

The 2nd project will complement the noble targets of "Mama Feeding" PROGRAMME.
Embassy of Israel aims to support self-sustainability of the Kenyan communities in access to nutritious & well-balanced diet by advancing of growing of Spirulina (blue-green algae) superfood supplement.

According to research, only 9 grams of spirulina can bridge protein & vitamin gaps in schoolchildren’s diet, that can help address malnutrition & food insecurity in schools.

This project will be implemented in partnership with NGO Engineers Without Borders Israel, that has an exclusive expertise in growing of Spirulina. The initiative is based on active involvement of Kenyan civil and religious community leaders and elders. A key role will be given to students in local schools and universities.
