The Africa Centre for Transformational and Inclusive Leadership (ACTIL) at Kenyatta University yesterday hosted the Alumni of Women Economic Empowerment, a training that took place in Israel in 2014 at Mount Carmel International Training Center (MCTC).
The Alumni underwent a follow up training – in the framework of the joint UN Women East and Southern African Regional Office (ESARO) and MASHAV (Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation) long-term partnership for leadership development and women empowerment.

H.E Yahel Vilan, Ambassador of Israel, together with his Deputy, Nadav Peldman, graced the closing ceremony of the follow up training and presented certificates to the participants.
ACTIL, hosted by Kenyatta University, was launched in February 2014, by UN Women ESARO in partnership with Kenyatta University. Its establishment is part of Memorandum of Understanding that was signed at the beginning of May 2013 by the UN-Women and MASHAV, providing a framework of cooperation aimed at the economic empowerment of women.
The institution offers core leadership courses in: Transformational Leadership, Agribusiness, youth leadership development, and women in corporate leadership, women in political leadership and Gender Responsive Planning and Budgeting.
