The Embassy of the State of Israel in Nairobi is seeking a committed, highly capable, charismatic and goal oriented professional to join the Embassy Team as a focal point for United Nations (UN) activities in our accredited countries-Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi and Seychelles.
Responsibilities
- To maintain and update a comprehensive list of Heads of UN organizations, Permanent Representatives, Deputy Permanent Representatives and Focal Points.
- To register Diplomatic staff and get them necessary accreditation to the United Nations upon arrival.
- To assist PR & DPR with preparations for official visits to the UN by Heads of State, Ministers and Foreign Affairs officials.
- To assist in preparation of UN related meetings, ceremonies, projects and researches.
- To attend meetings held in the UN, summarise and present a Report.
- Compile relevant regional news briefs.

- Strong networking and advocacy skills, including the ability to build rapport and engage effectively with individuals and organizations from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent team player.
- Self-motivation and capacity for creative thinking.
- Knowledgeable in the field of regional current affairs.
- Confident Public Speaker.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal-in English.
- Strong proficiency in computer-related skills especially Microsoft Office, Internet and Social Media (especially Twitter and Facebook).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Development Studies or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years of progressive responsible experience in a related field.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with UN system such as Model-UN is advantageous.
- Prior experience with UN or UN affiliate organizations / agencies desirable but not compulsory.
