The Embassy of the State of Israel in Nairobi is seeking a committed, highly capable, charismatic and goal oriented professional to join the Embassy Team as a
MASHAV (Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation)
Officer in our accredited countries-Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi and Seychelles.
Responsibilities
- Identifying relevant partners in the development field such as National and County governments, foundations, regional organizations, international non-governmental organizations, government agencies and financial institutions.
- Coordinate MASHAV training programmes both in Israel and in the respective countries, organizations and communities and institutions.
- Research, analyse and present proposals and opportunities for meaningful development projects in all the accredited countries mentioned above.
- Assist in preparing, reviewing and modifying memoranda of understanding and partnership agreements with partners and organize platforms for Israeli companies to display new products and technologies.
- Handle the Embassy’s Agri-training internship program including administering the application process, interviewing applicants and liaising with Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Universities in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania & Malawi.
- Provide technical input and support in monitoring and evaluation of development and humanitarian activities in the above-mentioned countries.
- Social media management for all MASHAV related activities, daily political & economic news analysis and provide briefs to the Ambassador.
- Oversee successful projects supported by MASHAV in various fields of cooperation that Israel has a comparative advantage; Agriculture, Health, Education, Water Management & Technology.
- Support and advice the Ambassador and the Deputy Ambassador with any other professional duties as required by them.

- Strong networking and advocacy skills, including the ability to build rapport and engage effectively with individuals and organizations from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent team player.
- Self-motivation and capacity for creative thinking.
- Knowledgeable in the field of regional current affairs.
- Confident Public Speaker.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal-in English.
- Strong proficiency in computer-related skills especially Microsoft Office, Internet and Social Media (especially Twitter and Facebook).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Development Studies or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years of progressive responsible experience in a related field.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
