Shalom Dear Friends,
This month, on the eve of Wednesday, September 4, Jews around the world will celebrate Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year 5774. And as the new year approaches, we are bound to look back and reflect on the previous year, on our accomplishments as well as on the challenges we have faced.
In the past year there is much that we can be proud of: our two great nations have marked 50 years of excellent bilateral relations with many of Israel's achievements being replicated here in Kenya, in the areas of agriculture, irrigation, water technology, medical technology, fish farming, road construction, affordable housing, security and much more. In the coming year, we look forward to working hard to strengthen and deepen these good relations, even as the Embassy continues to celebrate this Jubilee.
I wish all my Jewish brothers and sisters, and their families a sweet New Year blessed with peace, health and happiness.
To all Kenyans, thank you for your warm friendship and support, and to the Embassy Staff, I appreciate your continued love and support and wish you and your families a new year full of growth, prosperity, and success.
Shana Tova [Have a Good Year]!
Gil Haskel
Ambassador of Israel
