On Friday, May 25, an event was held at the Nairobi International Conference Center (KICC) to mark the re-launching of the Kenyan chapter of MASHAV's (Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation) "Shalom Club".
"Shalom Clubs" serve as a forum for MASHAV alumni to participate in professional and social activities. Members are invited to attend local lectures by skilled experts, to exchange ideas and to organize technical cooperation, humanitarian activities, and community development, as well as holding cultural functions. The "Shalom Club" can also serve as an excellent forum for professional networking for alumni. MASHAV maintains contact with its former course participants through its network of more than 70 Shalom Clubs worldwide.
During the re-launching event at KICC, the following Officials were elected and tasked to lead the "Shalom Club" in its future endeavors.
1. Kefa Omoi – Chair
2. Rose Kudate – Vice Chair
3. Francis Ndegwa – Secretary
4. Serah Wachira – Assistant Secretary
5. Molly Achieng – Treasurer
6. Elias Muchunu – Organizing Secretary
7. Georginah Nyambura – Assistant Organizing Secretary
Since Kenya's independence in 1963, MASHAV has trained thousands of Kenyan professionals in a variety of disciplines that include agriculture, education, medicine, gender issues, and more.
All those who have had a chance to benefit from MASHAV training in the past are invited to join the "shalom club."
